[3rd POV]

As predicted. Their mission was another ambush. It was getting so out of hand and pointless.

Flutterina was busy at work, gossiping, breaking apart trust bit by bit.

Double Trouble thought to themselves, 'Maybe the boss would appreciate a favor.' So they made their move. Shifting into Adora they walked down the hall and passed by Silver. Silver greeted them with a wave but in turn, they gave the girl the cold shoulder and stormed off without a word. When out of sight they shifted into Bow who jogged up to her.
"Hey, what's up with Adora?" They asked. Silver shrugged sadly.

"Was it something I said?" Silver's ears flattened.

"Uh...." Bow tried to hold back from saying anything.
"Bow, is there something you need to tell me?" Silver looked at him suspiciously.
"Adora-has-been-having-doubts-about-the-mark." They spilled and Silver's ears fell limp.

"Doubts...?" Silver echoes and hugged herself.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that. It's-okay-though, she still loves you. I guess she's not sure how much commitment she can take." He slapped his hands over his mouth again and cringed. Silver's tail tucked itself between her legs and she sighed.
"It's okay." Silver slinked away, leaving her friend a regretful mess.

When Silver was away from view, DT looked for Adora and shifted to Mermista.

"Oh heyy Adora." She drawled entering the empty war room with its only occupant.
"Oh, hey Mermista. What are you doing here?"

"Just felt like passing through, seeing what the Bright Moon kitchens have to offer." She drawled.

Adora hummed looking at their plans again.

There was a silence until Mermista decided to gossip.

"You know...Word out there is that Silver and Glimmer are flirting way dirtier than normal. I personally think she's a bit too far from her leash." Mermista leaned onto her elbows. "Especially for you to allow that in your own relationship."

"What?" Adora finally made eye contact.

"Yeah, I heard the time when you went to that Elberon party, things got a little intense around here." Adora clenched her jaw and put her hand to the bandage still on her shoulder.

"She's...playing around with Glimmer's feelings? My feelings...?" Adora said fairly distant.

"Yeah...I guess...Glimmer's letting it happen. But who knows, it's just word around anyway. Ugggh I need to get out of here. Bye Adora. If I leave Sea Hawk too long, he might set our ride home on fire." Mermista waved and Adora nodded.

Leaving the war room DT chuckled to themselves. Catra ought to appreciate this.

~The next day~

[Silver's POV]

Adora doubted the mark huh? Even after she said all that...

There was a storm outside and everyone sat around a table, the warm fire crackling behind us. Everyone seemed tense in some way. Adora and I barely talked to each other. Just the silent treatment on both ends.

Adora sat with her hand on the back of her chair her body facing away from Bow and her eyes glaring daggers at him. Everyone else was silent. Whatever was going on it was intense.

"I called you all here to discuss what happened today. The mission to retake Dryl was a complete disaster. We barely made it out." Glimmer spoke from by the fireplace.
"I wanna know why."
