Just Try It!

The pitter patter of several feet pounding downstairs woke me up this morning. It was only 8 AM but I guess everyone else was already out of bed. I sat up and stretched before looking down at Emily. They were laying on their stomach on their side of the bed, facing the other way and sprawling their arms above their head. I leaned down and started placing slow kisses on their temple, "Good morning, Em."

"Hmm?"

"Good morningggg."

"Jenif... Hmm?"

"Get up, baby. Everyone's already downstairs." Emily scrunched their brows and just groaned in response, stuffing their face even more into their pillow.

"Come on, Em, we gotta get up. Stop being a baby." She whined more and refused to answer me like the toddler she was. Emily was not a morning person. "I know we had to get up super early yesterday and that you're tired but everyone's probably waiting for us." No response. I sighed, "If you get up now I'll let you come in the shower with me."

She shot up, hair in complete disarray, "You mean it?"

"If it'll get you out of bed then sure."

She pumped her fist, "Yesss!" I giggled and threw the covers off us, stretching once more and then leading the way into my bathroom. Emily followed close behind, already stripping from her PJs. I turned the water on and threw my clothes off while we waited for it to heat up. Once the glass was all fogged up from the steam, I slid the door open and we each climbed in. I moaned immediately in delight when I felt the hot water cascade over my body and remove all the aches from my muscles. Emily slid up behind me, resting her hands on my hips and her head on my shoulder.

I closed my eyes and hummed, "See isn't this nice? It's a good way to start the day."

She mumbled as she kissed my neck, "Mmm yeah I love starting my day with naked women."

I looked back at her and raised an eyebrow, "'Naked women?'"

"Naked you. Y-You. Just you."

"Much better." A kiss.

As I picked up a loofah and started to wash myself Emily asked, "So what's the plan for the day?"

"Well before everyone comes over tonight I thought I could take you Christmas shopping downtown. They have such cute little shops that put those Christmas displays in the window, you know?"

"Like at Macy's in New York?"

"Yeah! But small-towny instead of big-city-y."

"That could be cool. What else?"

"We eat dinner around 4:30 so we should be back here by 3:30 sharp, okay?"

"Ahh so no more fooling around in the car?"

I laughed, "No, no more fooling around in the car."

She started sucking on my pulse point, "Then how about we just get it out of our system right now, hmm?" I tilted my head back a little more, trying to decide whether or not I wanted to take her up on that. Her hands slid around my front to rest over each of my boobs, palming them gently. Suddenly, I felt something poke me in the back.

I quietly said, "Emilyyyy?"

"Hmm?"

"Is that you?"

"Mmmaybe." I turned around in her arms and looked down, biting my lip when I saw her standing at attention.

I wrapped my arms around her neck and gave in, "Ugh fine, let's just get this over with now." Emily smiled widely and picked me up, pinning me against the tile wall for our quickie.

30 minutes later
Once Emily and I were out of the shower and all dressed, we head downstairs to see everyone. I hopped off the last step and saw my mom, "Good morning, mom!"

"Oh there you girls are! You're dressed already?"

I snaked my arm around Emily's waist and hummed, "We're gonna go downtown for a while."

My mom raised a brow and said, "That's fine but you need to be back here no later than 3:30 sharp."

I nodded, "We know."

"Okay then. Do y'all want something to eat first?"

I looked up at Em, "You hungry, babe?"

"I-I don't wanna intrude but uh, yeah I could eat."

I whispered to my mom, "She can always eat."

Mom chuckled and beckoned us into the kitchen, "That's what I like to hear! I just warmed up the biscuits in the oven and I have fresh bacon sitting on a plate right here. There's a tray of scrambled eggs on the counter and plenty of juice in the fridge if you get thirsty, okay dears?"

"Thanks, mom. Did everyone else eat already?"

"Everyone except for Reese. She's been waiting for Emily." Emily flushed red at hearing that, but I could tell it was more in pride rather than embarrassment. "I'll call her down now." Emily and I gathered up a few plates of food and sat down at the breakfast table while Mom stepped into the kitchen doorway and hollered upstairs, "Reese, Emily's here!" The pounding of tiny feet didn't even hinder for a second before Reese was barreling downstairs.

She launched herself into Emily, "Emmy!"

Emily picked her up onto her lap and smiled, "Good morning, kiddo. What's this I hear about you waiting for me to eat?"

Reese cuddled into Emily's chest and explained, "I wanna eat my bwekfast wif yous."

Emily moved Reese to sit on her knee and then asked, "All right, munchkin, whatdya want?"

"Hmm... What awe you having?"

"Bacon, biscuits, and orange juice. I might have some of Jenny's eggs too." Emily stuck her tongue out at me, causing me to hoard my eggs on my side of the table.

Reese made a yucky face, "Ew I don't wike eggs."

"No?"

I whispered to Emily, "She refuses to try them."

Reese turned to me and scolded, "Dey wook gwoss!"

Emily took a forkful of eggs and said to Reese, "They taste pretty good though. Just try them." Reese shook her head. Emily sighed and reasoned, "If you don't like them, you don't have to have them again. No one's gonna force you. It's as simple as that." Reese looked suspiciously at the serving of eggs and then up at Emily. To my surprise, she leaned forward and took a bite. Reese famously never listened to anyone. She chewed cautiously for a few seconds before smiling and swallowing the eggs.

She exclaimed, "Dose awe good!"

Emily laughed, "Right!? Good job, kid, I'm so proud of you!" Reese giggled and settled back into Emily's lap, sneaking bites of her breakfast every now and then although she was much more invested in her glass of chocolate milk. When Emily grabbed our coats to leave, Reese threw a bit of a tantrum and begged us to either bring her with us or stay home. Who knew someone could be this attached to Emily within a matter of hours? Nevertheless I wasn't gonna bring my 4-year-old cousin downtown along with my girlfriend, who I'm dying to spend some time alone with. Em and I snuck out while Reese was distracted and got in the car. I gave Emily directions to the tiny little downtown area in East Allegheny. We walked up and down the brick streets and tried to go to every store we passed. We shared a milkshake at the malt shop, played a game of pool at a sports bar, bought matching PJs for Christmas morning, and sampled every ice cream flavor at the local homemade ice cream joint. I think we're ready for our Hallmark movie now.
