"What did I do wrong? What could I have done wrong?" Mike contemplates, pacing back and forth in the basement.

"Do I have to go through this again?" Lucas asked him.

Mike took another bite of his chip as Will and Ethan were conversing where they should start if they were going to play D&D at all at this point.

"I just don't understand what I did to deserve this." Mike exhales.

"Nothing. Nothing. That's my whole point. You are the victim here" Lucas replies.

"I know. It's just, why is she treating me this way?"

"I don't know. Mike-"

"What did I do wrong? What did I do wrong!?"

"Mike, stop. Relax. Just relax. Okay? Just stop asking rational questions." Lucas instructed, sitting Mike down and lifting his feet on top of the armrest of the couch.

"I know, I know, you're right."

"Yeah."

"Because women act on emotion and not logic."

"Precisely."

Ethan scrunched his nose up in confusion and looked in their direction. He knew Mike was going through a break-up and whatever, but now he was doing his old 'pulling shit out of my ass' technique.

"It's a totally different species," Lucas agreed.

"Guys, it's ready," Will announced.

"Will, not right now," Lucas deflects

"They broke up with you. What else is there to talk about?" Will argues.

"Tons," Lucas replied.

"Like how you're both being jackasses?" Ethan asked in a sarcastic tone.

"Look, we're trying to solve the great mystery of the female species," Mike added

Ethan looked at Will with a 'what the hell' face, which he returned with a 'mentally worried' expression. And of course, they turned into middle-aged drunk men who told their bar friends divorce jokes.

"Dude, you can smell the nacho cheese," Mike chuckled

Will groaned, shaking his head and contemplating his choices on being there.

"I got that beat."

"What?"

"Oh, no."

"No, Lucas, no."

"I'm gonna go, bye-"

"No!"

"Lucas! Lucas!"

Ethan grabbed Will's hand and their backpacks, teleporting the boys into Mike's bathroom upstairs. Ethan slid down the door as he closed and locked it.
