The group retreated to the Wheeler's basement once again, where Mike was cleaning Eleven up in the bathroom. Meanwhile, Ethan and Dustin were talking about their next move about the Upside Down and trying to get Will home.
Suddenly, the walkie talkie next to the two boys started making weird sounds, which made Dustin jump to the conclusion that it was Lucas. And he was in trouble. Dustin retrieves the two from the bathroom, and leads them to the walkie, talking about how Lucas wanted to find the gate himself. Lucas was shouting instinctively on the radio while Dustin picked it up.
"What's he saying?" Mike asks, taking the walkie in his hands.
Ethan silently chuckles at the irony that Mike was asking the two what Lucas was saying, because he couldn't even hear it.
"I dunno, he's way out of range. " Dustin sighs
".... son of a bitch!"
"Lucas, if you can hear us, slow down. We can't understand you." Mike talks into the walkie talkie.
"..Eleven! ..are..ing... the bad.. en are.. ming! Th.. pro.. Ethan! Ge.. there!""
"Mad hen? Does that mean anything? Like a code name?" Dustin questions aloud
"The bad men are coming!" Lucas shouts
"Bad men.. Bad men!"
The radio statics as Mike and Dustin run upstairs to check the windows to see if any Hawkins Power and Light vans were outside, which there was.
Mike runs into the kitchen to yell for his mom.
"Mom!"
She ignores him and silently tells him to wait as she's on the phone.
"Mom!"
"I'm sorry, can you just hold on please?" She speaks into the phone. "Micheal, I'm on the phone. I've told you a million times-"
"Did you schedule any repairs?" He interrupts
"What?"
"Is there anyone supposed to come and do repairs on the house?"
More vans start pulling onto the street, and Dustin quickly closes the curtains in fear the men would see him. He quickly runs to the kitchen to shout for Mike.
"We need to leave.." he pants, out of breath, "right now."
Mike quickly runs after him downstairs, shouting to his mom, "If anyone asks where I am, I've left the country!"
The pair sprint down the stairs to quickly gather their things and alert the powered children they had to leave. They sprint outside the basement door, quickly gathering their jackets and backpacks. Eleven hops on Mike's bike as they peddle up the street. Ethan looks horrified to see those men, in those uniforms approaching the group, and does something he shouldn't have. He lit a match from his pocket, and moved the fire to set a spark on one of the men's shoes. A quick distraction.
