I yawned as we approached the room 301, the real one. I narrowed my eyes when I saw Kakashi waiting at the door,

"Glad you came Sakura. For your sake and the others." We all looked at him in surprise, "Now you can all formally enter for the chunin exams." Kakashi continued,

"Why, what do you mean?" Sakura asked, finally, Sakura asks a question we all want to know. I thought,

"You see, only groups of three are allowed to take the exam. But the Hokage made a rule specially for this team that all four of you had to enter." He answered,

"But sensei, you said that it was up to the individual whether or not to enter." Sakura countered,

"That's right, I did say that."

"W-Was that a lie?" she asked, Kakashi turned and looked out the window,

"Well, sort of. It is an individual decision but it affects all of you. I didn't tell you before because I didn't want you to feel that everyone was pressuring you, if that happened you would have only taken the test half heartedly."

"But wait a minute. Does that mean that if I decided to quit..."

"It would have been the end of the line; if you hadn't come along I couldn't have let the others in." Kakashi finished. I quickly raced to Sakura and hugged her tightly,

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!" I chimed while I cut of her supply of oxygen,

"A-Ayame! C-Can't breathe!" She gasped; I laughed sheepishly and let her go. Kakashi laughed,

"But anyway, none of that matters, your all here and for the right reasons. Sakura. Naruto. Ayame." I grinned at him, "Sasuke." Kakashi smiled, "I'm proud of you all. I couldn't ask for a better team." He stepped aside, "Now go on in." Sasuke and Sakura approached the door, ready to open it,

"We won't let you down sensei!" Naruto promised. I inwardly smiled,

"Thanks Oto-san." I murmured so only Kakashi could hear. I heard him chuckle,

"Yea yea don't go soft on me now kiddo." He joked quietly. I grinned as Sakura and Sasuke opened the two large doors, we all walked inside happily.

As I stepped inside I felt the atmosphere change drastically, it went from 'happy-go-lucky' to 'if-you-make-any-sudden-movements-I'll-slit-your-throat', and I'm not afraid to say that I was practically shaking in my shoes. I swallowed loudly,

"W-Wow..." I breathed. I secretly hid behind Sasuke just to make myself feel protected,

"Gee, I guess we're not alone." Sakura explained looking around the room of irritable shinobi. I jumped when I heard a familiar female voice,

"Sasuke where've you been?" Ino squealed jumping on Sasuke's back. He growled and tried to pry her off him. I sighed and punched her on the head,

"It's not nice to annoy my boyfriend Ino." I told her, she held her head and growled at me,

"Who said he's yours freak?" Sasuke wrapped an arm around me,

"That would be me." I could practically see all of Ino's hopes and dreams about Sasuke shatter. I secretly felt sorry for her but shook off that feeling. I hadn't said it, Sasuke had, and it's not my fault we're in love.

"Oh it's you guys." I heard a lazy voice sigh from behind me. I turned around and saw Shikamaru and Choji. I grinned,

"Shika! Choji!" I squealed, Shikamaru smiled lazily at me,

"Hey Ayame-chan." He looked over my shoulder to Naruto,

"I knew this was gonna be a drag but I didn't know it'd be this lame." He stated with his hands in his pockets,
