Chapter 87: Why Adorable was Banished

Jamie and Tylor went up the elevator in silence as they came upon the giant eye.

"What? If you have something to say, say it," Tylor said, nothing was spoken, then he finished, "I didn't think so."

"Oh I have plenty of things to say," Jamie remarked.

"Well, what was I supposed to do, Jamie? He was banished and on top of that, we finally get our chances to be Jokesters and you act like you don't want it anymore," Tylor replied.

"Tylor, you know I want to be on that floor as much as you do. But when it comes to the ones who count on you, you would normally do anything to help them. Even if they were banished. And I bet he was banished for the wrong reasons," Jamie explained.

They then got off the elevator to be greeted by Val.

She gasped and called, "Double T. Jay Dee."

"Val, we...we gotta go," Tylor told her.

"I found out why he was banished," Val told them.

"No," Tylor shook his head.

"He didn't eat Dale, or steal cars, or drink screams. He never hurt anybody," Val said.

"I don't understand. Then why was he be banished?" Tylor asked.

"He saw a letter from Waternoose about plans for a machine that would extract screams from kids," Val answered.

"Oh. He knew about the Scream Extractor," Tylor concluded.

"Oh my gosh," Jamie responded.

"After that, Waternoose banished him for life. But he just wanted a friend," Val continued.

Jamie gave Tylor a knowing look, making him feel conflicted.

"Hey, Tylor, Jamie, get in here. We've just about met the power demand, and you two aren't even on the board," Mike told them.

The other classmates talked about how they made the kids laugh.

"We, uh...we gotta go," Tylor said.

"No," Jamie shook her head.

"What?" he asked.

"I'm going back to help Adorable. And if you really care, you'd come and help him too," she replied then told Val, "Come on, Val. Let's go."

They left and Tylor went in the Laugh Floor as a door was being prepared for him. But the whole time, he felt conflicted.

"Mr. Tuskmon, you're good to go," his helper informed.

He then reached for the knob, but before he went in, he stopped himself. He then looked down at the rubber chicken.

"Uh...Sorry. Here," Tylor told his helper before running off.

Meanwhile, Jamie and Val activated the metal door.

"I'm gonna go first. You stay here," Val said.

"Okay," Jamie nodded.

Val went in and closed the door behind her.

"Jamie!" Tylor called.

She turned around to see him, running toward her.

"Tylor, you're not stopping Val and I from..." she started.

She was interrupted by Tylor kissing her. It was pretty quick so she didn't have enough time to respond.

"I'm so sorry, Jamie. You're right. Helping others is more important than anything. And while I want to be a Jokester and you do too, there'll be more tries to do that. But for now, let's bring Adorable back," Tylor said.

Jamie was taken back for a minute until a smile spread across her face and she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him. They stayed like this for a while.

"Whoa. Am I interrupting something?" Val asked, making the couple part.

The couple blushed in embarrassment for a bit.

"What's up, Val?" Jamie wondered.

"Adorable has a lot of snow cones and he could use some extra help," Val answered.

Jamie then looked at Tylor and they smiled at each other.

"I think we can help with that," Tylor said.
