They soon called down to MIFT and let Fritz aware of the news.
"Trim my staff? Sounds like you're asking me to involuntarily remove someone from their job. Are you doing that?" Fritz asked.
Meanwhile, Duncan was eavesdropping on his phone.
"It's Bean from accounting. Budget cuts. Fritz has to fire one of us," Duncan informed.
"What?" Val and Jamie questioned.
"One of us is gonna get fired?" Tylor asked.
"I prefer the term 'axed.' Has more bite," Cutter commented.
"And he has to do it by end of the week!" Duncan said, shushed, then told them, "Here he comes. Act natural."
As Fritz came in, everyone quietly hummed to themselves, Duncan managing to softly sing out, "Essential employee."
"Sad sigh," Fritz said.
"Uh, you okay, Fritz?" Jamie asked.
"Need me to wash your car? Reupholster your chair?" Duncan offered.
"Duncan!" Val remarked.
"Be your butler without pay?" Duncan continued.
"No, no, no. I'm fine. You know, I could really use a Drooler Cooler. But Vendy's gone. A really sad sigh," Fritz explained before going back in his office and crying.
"Whoa. Bad day to break Fritz's favorite vending machine, eh, College Boy? Last in, first out," Duncan chuckled.
