Chapter 102: NOT Getting Haircuts

Now at the barber shop, Fritz was in the chair while the others waited their turn.

"Hmm. Yeah, Francine. You know what? Don't take anything off the sides. Why don't we just leave it the way it is?" Fritz requested.

"She's, uh, just cutting the air," Tylor replied.

"Right. It's 'not a haircut'," Val stated,

"Ah, so, we're all just here to not get haircuts," Tylor clarified.

"You get it," Val said.

"Got it," Tylor nodded.

"David never cut his hair. This is our way of showing our respect," Val stated.

"He was really the perfect MIFTer, huh?" Tylor wondered.

"Yeah, think of everything that you are, College Boy, then think of the opposite. That was David," Duncan stated.

Jamie then smacked Duncan upside the head, making him yelp.

"Or a better comparison, the hairy male version of Jamie," Val said.

Tylor looked at Jamie, who rubbed her arm shyly.

"I wouldn't say that," Jamie replied.

"I think that's a good description," Tylor smirked, making her giggle.

"And Duncan, Ty-Ty here, he could be the one," Fritz said.

"What? To replace David?" Duncan questioned.

"Sure!" Fritz nodded.

"I thought they said Jamie did," Duncan muttered sarcastically.

"I know he's as devoted to us as David was," Fritz remarked.

"Ha! I laugh. Ty-Ty is no David," Duncan smirked.

"Yeah, David once repaired 28 door stations in a single day. Boom-bam!" Cutter said.

"Perfect attendance. Never sick. Never late," Fritz added.

"Boom-bam!" Cutter exclaimed.

"One week, he worked 368 hours straight without taking a break," Val added.

"Boom-bam!" Cutter repeated.

"I don't think there's that many hours in a week," Tylor pointed out.

"It was a leap week," the other MIFTers said.

"That was one heck of a leap week," Jamie commented.

"If this not-haircut haircut's gonna take so long to not cut my hair, I'll have to get back down to the office and feed Roto," Duncan said.

"I forgot to remove the regulator off the canister down in the shop," Cutter added.

"I'll take care of it. You guys keep not getting your haircut. I'll feed Roto, take care of the canister, and then we can all light the candle before the day is done," Tylor replied as he got up,

"You sure you're reliable?" Duncan asked suspiciously.

"Those are some big, hairy shoes to fill," Cutter mentioned.

"Of course he is. This is a chance for Ty-Ty to show us that he's as reliable and honest as David was," Fritz said.

When Tylor left and the others waited, Jamie noticed Celia and Y/N getting their hair done.

"Guys, I'll be right back," she told them as she got up.

"Okay. Don't be too long," Val called as Jamie walked away.

She then went to them and smiled.

"Hey, guys," she greeted.

"Hey!" Y/N said.

"How are you?" Celia asked.

"I'm doing good. You guys?" Jamie replied.

"Doing good," Celia responded.

"Same," Y/N added.

"That's good," Jamie nodded.

But the two knew something was going on with her.

"What's really going on, Jamie?" Celia asked.

"Yeah. We know you've got something on your mind that you need to get out," Y/N replied.

Jamie sighed and said, "Tylor thinks his chances of being a Jokester are completely gone and most likely won't change his mind."

"Did you tell him we were gonna talk to Ms. Flint about letting him continue?" Y/N asked.

"Yes. And he was excited about it. I don't know why he's changed his mind so quickly," Jamie sighed.

"I don't know. Googly-Bear never did anything like this," Celia said.

"Neither did Blue Boy," Y/N added.

"But both of them said they have done that before. Just not around us," Celia replied.

"Men," all three women remarked then laughed.

"Well, we'll see if we can get to Ms. Flint in time," Y/N assured as Celia nodded.

"Thanks," Jamie smiled then told them, "I gotta get back."

"Okay. Bye," Y/N and Celia responded.

Then Jamie went back to the other MIFTers. Then Celia and Y/N continued their chat.

"So what's this surprise you're gonna tell Sulley?" Celia wondered.

"I'm not saying anything. I want him to be the first to know," Y/N answered, resting her hands on her stomach casually before they continued with their hair.
