After that disaster, we sit there in silence. A few minutes go by before I stand up.

"I know that was weird but it's summer. I just want to forget about it and have fun." I say to which the rest of the group nods. We end up turning on a cassette player and I go lay with Bev to tan. It's awfully quiet still but I don't mind. It's relaxing to just lay here away from the water and that clown thing.

Richie's POV

Holy shit. The guys and I can't help but stare. I've known Y/n for year's and I've never seen her like this. When had Y/n gotten hot? She was always beautiful but this was different. Is it rude to stare? I can tell the others are staring too, their eyes drifting between both girls. But my eyes are glued to Y/n. She sits up sending the guys and I turning to avoid getting caught. Bev turns as Y/n looks down at her wrist. She gasps and looks at me.

"Richie, my bracelet's gone." She gasps, glancing around the area. She's talking about the bracelet I had given her for Christmas about 2 years ago. I had mowed 12 lawns and washed 4 cars to save up for that charm bracelet she had seen in a store window as we walked to the arcade. She sighs and glances back at the water.

"It must have fallen off while we were in there," I respond to which she nods. We both accept that finding it will be practically impossible. "Hey, I've got something better planned for this Christmas." I try to comfort her. I don't but I'll figure something out. She just smiles and shakes her head.

"What're you getting me, Rich?" Eddie questions, leaning forward. I just smile and pretend to think.

"Probably some blood from someone with AIDS." I laugh to which he frowns.

"Don't even joke like that! What if it gets in through my eyes or contaminates my medications?" Eddie begins to ramble. I tune him out and turn to Ben. His backpack sits open and is stuffed with papers.

"Newsflash, Ben. School's out for summa!" I state in my fantastic British accent. I grab a postcard and pull it out.

"Oh, that? That's not school stuff." He says as I look at the postcard with a picture of Derry. My face scrunches in confusion.

"Who sent you this?" I ask as I go to turn it. Ben quickly snatches it from my hands with wide eyes.

"No one. Give it." I just go back to sifting through his backpack. I grab a folder and open it. It opens to an old newspaper about some Easter egg hunt that ended in tons of deaths, specifically children.

"What's with the history project?" I question. He leans over and looks at it before I pass it to Bill.

"Oh well, when I first moved here I didn't have anyone to hang out with, so I just started spending time in the library." He responds with a sigh. I make a face.

"You went to the library? On purpose?" I grimace thinking about just how boring that is. Does this kid know what fun is?

"Oh, I wanna see." Bev chimes in, walking over to Bill. Y/n gets up and climbs up onto the rock, sitting behind me and glancing over my shoulder at the backpack. She rests her head on my shoulder and I rest my head onto hers with a small smile. She picks the chipping yellow polish on her nails before grabbing my hand.

"Can I paint your nails the next time you come over?" She asks, pulling my hand for a better look.

"Sure thing, Doll." I smile. I glance back over at Bill. "Here, pass it," I say, reaching with my free hand. He passes it and I hand it to Y/n who opens it up and skims through the papers. Her head tilts and she frowns.
