A month, a whole month had passed and I was so thankful that even with our busy school schedules, I was still able to go to his practices and games. Of course they were more practice games since the season hadn't officially started, but it was still fun to watch. We spent Friday nights curled up watching movies and Saturdays exploring and doing coursework. It was pretty much routine. When we were done we would either go to his room or mine, but we were always together.
I had talked to Olivia a few times and she was super understanding of my reluctance to hangout with their group. Still, she had tried to invite me to a few things, but it always clashed with Austin's practices. Not that it was a bad coincidence since it gave me a valid excuse not to go.
It was after another one of Austin's practice games his team had won, that I saw her for the first time since the party. She had her hair pulled back and was wearing denim jeans and a sweater.
"Anna?" She called as she approached me and Austin In the parking lot.
"Olivia, hey." I smiled reaching for Austin's hand.
"You're hard to catch." She joked "are you coming to the celebration party?"
"No, we are heading home." Austin said for me, obviously sensing that I didn't want to disappoint her.
"Oh." Her face dropped. "Looks like the football team weren't the only ones who won." She smiled shyly at Austin.
"It was a practice game." He remained friendly.
"Okay, well I just wanted to come and invite you both. It's at my parents house, I'll send you the address incase you change your mind." She smiled. "See you later." She didn't press the issue but true to her words she send the address through messenger.
"Thank you." I turned into Austin, not needing to explain why I was thanking him.
"Let's go home." He grinned pulling me to the car.
We were half way home when I suddenly felt guilty. Guilty that he was missing out on a college party that celebrated both teams winning.
"Are you sure you don't want to go? We can if you want too?" I asked.
"No, it's fine. It's more for the football team anyway. The guys have been talking about it at practice all week."
"Austin, we can go for a little while if you want too. Your team is going to be there and I don't mind." I tried to reassure him.
"Are you sure? I mean I don't want to go if you're going to get mad at me?" He sighed.
"I won't, just keep the girls away." I smiled at him.
"Oh, trust me. I'm not letting go of you all night." He smirked.
Truthfully I didn't want to go, but I didn't want him to miss out. I could smile and be a good girlfriend for a few hours. Austin had more than proven he was sorry since the first incident and I did trust him.
I read off the directions and fifteen minutes later we pulled up to the house that was littered with drunk college kids. Austin didn't hesitate to wrap his arm around my waist as we walked up the steps into the two story house.
It didn't scream extreme wealth, but it wasn't exactly modest either. You could tell they had money, but not millionaire status or anything crazy.
We walked into the packed living room where I was instantly bombarded by Olivia.
"You came?" She grinned.
"Yeah, we decided to stop by for a few minutes." I felt Austin's arms tighten on me as I glanced up and caught his eyes looking over at the source.
"I'll keep her busy. I'm just glad you came." Olivia smiled noticing that we were now both looking at non other than Savannah, who was watching Austin as she shot back a shot of clear liquid.
I nodded in response as Austin led us away and into the back yard where the baseball team was. I was glad that I could actually relax out here. The baseball team was laid back and after Austin introduced us, they were surprisingly easy to get along with.
Olivia had walked out and joined us for a while with Marcus and surprisingly I found myself having a good time. Well until Cole appeared followed closely by Savannah.
"Austin, Anna, glad you could make it." Cole grinned in a way that made me feel uneasy and I backed into Austin.
"Yeah, Anna agreed to come for a little while." Austin shrugged, not removing his hands from my waist where they were wrapped around my stomach.
"I'm glad she was nice enough to give you permission." Savannah chirped in stepping towards us as I rolled my eyes.
"It was her idea to come actually." Austin challenged her and I was a little proud. "I'd rather be curled up with her in bed." He added as I felt my face heat up.
"Whatever, it's probably just because you've never had a real woman." She batted her eyes at him. "Just let me know if you ever want to try one." She smirked at me and I felt myself snap.
"Go find someone else to mess with." I said.
"Oh, she does have a backbone, surprise!" She said stepping towards me.
"We can't all be bitches or sluts." I narrowed my eyes.
"What did you call me?" She shrieked and I decided that in this moment I wanted to make myself as clear as possible.
"Well first I called you a bitch, you know since you clearly like to make people feel like shit, and since you also keep hitting on my boyfriend, who by the way is not interested, I also called you a sl—"
I didn't get to finish the last word before she lunged for me. Thankfully Austin pulled me out of the way and she stumbled into a heap on the lawn as Cole scrambled to help her up and the baseball guys and everyone else snickered.
She stood back up and turned to face me, her eyes filled with rage. "I always get what I want, you'll see." She smirked as I glanced at Austin, a silent plea of asking what I should do.
His response was to lean down and pull me into a breathtaking kiss. "Too bad I'm not something she can have, I'm always going to be yours." He muttered as he pulled away and Savannah stomped off.
We shot a quick apology to Cole and everyone else who didn't seem at all phased by what had happened, and then Austin threw me over his shoulder and carried me to the car.
"I think that was the hottest thing I have ever seen." He set me down and kissed me again before we got in the car and headed home where he showed me just how turned on it had made him.
