We got dropped off on Broadway and walked into the neon lit karaoke bar. The waitress escorted us to a table and gave us menus as a lady in her thirties sang to a Miranda Lambert song on the karaoke stage.

"She's pretty good." I smiled glancing at the menu.

"I agree, although I think she drank a little too much." He chuckled as she swayed on the stage.

"At least she's having fun."

"What can I get you?" The waitress asked as I looked up.

Her auburn colored hair was curled over her shoulders, settling just above the low cut tank top that emphasized her large breasts.

"Just a burger and a coke for me." I smiled trying not to act jealous, even though I could tell by her face that she had already figured out that I was.

"Same for me." Austin smiled at me, barely showing her any attention.

"Okay." She smiled, her eyes looking at Austin. "Will this be on the same check or separate?" She directed her question at him.

I was getting frustrated and I think Austin finally picked up on the attention he was getting, especially when he frowned slightly and looked over the table at me.

"Together, I'd be a terrible boyfriend if I made her pay for our date night."

"Maybe so," her eyes were still fixed on him "some girls don't mind paying for the dates."

I wanted to say something, shut her up, but the look Austin gave me said he had this handled.

"Oh she would pay, I'm just not going to let her. The least I can do after she gave me a beautiful son is buy her dinner on our first weekend alone." He smiled at me, daring me to play along.

Her tone suddenly changed as if she realized that flirting wasn't going to earn her tips. "Absolutely, I'll go get your orders in." She smiled weakly before heading to wherever the staff went.

"A baby? That's the lie you constructed?" I asked with a challenge behind it. What he said next could make or break us, figuratively of course.

"Girls like that don't care about relationship status, married, engaged, it doesn't matter to them. Throw a kid in the mix and most of them scatter." He said seeming pleased with himself.

"You seem to know a lot about how women act?" I raised my eyebrows.

"I've seen enough of my team mates trying to fend of the crazies to learn a few things. Besides," he reached his hand over the table and rested it on mine, "Maybe once we are done with college and I get a ring on that finger we will have kids."

At that I almost choked on my drink. Kids, with him? It would actually be a sweet comment to make if this wasn't still new, if we hadn't just graduated high school.

I watched as he gauged my reaction, deflating a little when I glanced away and covered my mouth as I coughed the liquid out of my throat.

"I'm sorry." I caught my breath. "It's just this whole dating thing is still new, I just, well I haven't thought that far ahead yet. I just want to see how college works out for us, living together and all that." I explained.

"Don't worry about it. Obviously I didn't mean now." His smile returned. "But evidently it does work as a good deterrent. Plus I do see a future with you Anna. A future for us." He emphasized as I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Two burgers with fries." The waitress interrupted and I was actually relieved she saved us from that conversation. "Can I get you anything else?"

"No, just bring the check and I'll go ahead and pay."

She looked at him confused but took his card to run the check as we ate our food and listened to people around us getting up to sing a variety of Kareoke songs.

"You gonna sing with me after we eat?" He asked throwing a fry into his mouth.

"Probably not, but you can always try to persuade me." I flirted, not giving a damn about how obviously I was doing so.

"I can think of a few ways." He licked his lips seductively as he spoke the next few sentences. "First I'll get you back to the hotel, stroking you the whole ride. Then I'm going to press you against the elevator as we climb up to our room, kissing you anywhere I can until we finally get off on our floor and I carry you to the room." I close my legs as he speaks low and gravelly. "Then I'm going to bury my face between your legs and do all the things I know make you tick snd writhe until I can bring you release and clean you with my tongue."

I wanted to stick to my guns and say No, but I was flustered now, and aside from the few fries left on my plate I was hungry again, only this time I was hungry for the him.

"Fine, but nothing corny" I rolled my eyes as he leaned back with a shit eating grin. He knew my weakness and that in itself would be my downfall.

Once we were done eating Austin led me to the stage where he found some country duet to sing. We watched the words rolling on the screen, even though we both knew the words.

When we got to the chorus of 'it's your love' Austin turned to me so that our eyes met. From that moment on it was just me and him, singing to each other, confessing how much we cared about each other as if nothing else mattered.

When we finished everyone was clapping and I felt myself blush as he kissed the side of my head and pulled me offstage.

"Come on," he began pulling me towards the door.

"Austin your card."

"I already got it." He said with urgency as we exited the building onto the lit up sidewalk and he tapped away on his phone.

"Where are we go...?" I began, but was cut off when he grabbed my waist and pushed me against the wall, searing his lips to mine.

"Our ride will be here soon." He gasped breathily, "and I promised you an unforgettable night." He kissed me again as I felt my knees buckle as his hands held me up.

"Okay." I managed to groan as I tried to grind against his knee.

"You're so fucking perfect." He whispered as the car pulled up and we both climbed in.

Tonight was going to be an epic rollercoaster of emotions, one I didn't know if I ever wanted to get off of.
