chapter nineteen -▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
IT REALLY is a promise he made- he stayed by your side during that day and took care of you the whole day, letting the silence comfort the both of you with ease. You were indebted to him but you don't know how to repay it back.
And there your body was staring at your device with a message saying, I'll come and visit you next week. I'm taking a week off from work, I'll stay there.
How do you need to explain this to Hanma? Your eyes was stuck at the screen. And as if time froze, your mind wonders deep inside.
"Hanma..." Fidgeting with your fingers, you lowered your head. A wary smile that wait painted on your face.
Hanma does not know why you called him all of the sudden. But the tension between the both of you made him anxious enough for cold sweats to slide down the sides of his forehead.
You swallowed, leaning on the wooden table. "Is it okay that you wouldn't be living here for a week?"
Hanma stays quiet- why all of the sudden? Aren't you both living comfortably just the two of you? He pressed his lips into a thin line, his eyes started to roam around your figure.
"My relative is going to visit me. It's not like I'm scared or anything but to her... The idea of a man living in together- she doesn't like that." You explained, finally looking back at him eye to eye.
Both iris's drowning with one another.
"Okay," A blunt response. Hanma completely understands it- your reasoning was understandable. After all, who wouldn't be frightened to see a relative of someone letting another person living in their own personal space? It can cause up to many misconceptions.
You were startled to hear such a direct answer from him. Your mouth gapped, "Are you not mad...?"
"Why would I?" He laughs, trying to ignore his aching chest. "It's not like we're not going to see each other anymore." Shifting his body to a slouch, he leans back on the wooden chair. A smirk on his face, "Also- I wouldn't want to be kicked out. It's just a week right?"
Slowly nodding your head, "Yeah... A week..."
He sighed facing down for a bit, you glanced at him- Wondering what he would do next. And with no signals, he stoods up from his seat with a grin.
"Time will go fast if we didn't cared- Don't miss me too much." He will miss everything about her even if it's going be just a week.
And the day came- Hanma left and you were left alone in your the living room whilst waiting for your older cousin to come back from a long tiring days of work. Tokyo doesn't seem to shine brightly today and it felt dull. That's all you could think about while Hanma was gone- How much longer could you endure this shredded week? You could go insane any minute now.
"[name] I'm back," A voice that you haven't heard in such a long time. Her delicate yet fierce look on her face never changes. Your cousin greeted you with a wide spread smile, "Did you miss me?"
"Yeah..." No, you didn't.
Not a single day have you been thinking about her. She never really gave you affection like the way she promised to- it was all materialistic. But who are you to reject all of those offerings? You're living in a world filled with greedy people. And you're one of them- you don't want to lie and hide underneath a thick skin.
