He kept staring at me, those hazel eyes. On the brink of tears yet so resilient, aiming to go against the tides.

"You better quit while you're ahead Belle." He teased. "I'm winning this."

I laughed in response. "You have no chance, Potter."

"When are you two going to quit?" Remus complained.

"They will not, I've tried." Sirius answered, continuing to use my textbook to create wind in my direction.

"For Merlin's sake, Just blink!" Peter yelled, swiping air towards James' direction the same.

"Peter!" James yelled in surprise. "Aren't you supposed to be on my side?" He asked while pushing Peter's hand away.

"Pete just likes me better than you I guess." I boosted. "You're on the verge of tears Potter, just quit."

"I'll never quit, I need to win this!" James responded.

I smirked. "We'll see."

A few more seconds passed by. Yet our eyes never wavered. I could see tears forming in James' eyes, fogging his glasses, when Sirius suddenly appeared and took his glasses away.

"Hey! That's cheating!" I complained.

"If Peter won't help me, then Sirius can." James said, mockingly.

I could see from the corner of my eye that Sirius was looking away, knowing that if I wasn't caught up in this competition, he would be dead by now.

"How did this squabble even start?" Remus asked, sighing at our argument.

"Right, you came here late." Peter responded, still fanning air towards James' eyes and James still trying to push him away.

"Yeah, tell him what's going on Peter, I'm gonna win this." James said while successfully pushing away Peter's hands with a smirk.

"Well, James basically ran up to Elly and I while we were walking, declaring a competition against Elly with the winner getting whatever they wanted, and Elly being the competitive person she is-" Peter started to say.

"Hey!" I interrupted. "I'm not competitive!"

"Of course El, of course." Remus comforted me, sarcastically. "Continue please Peter."

"Yeah.. well, Elly accepted and they set their prizes. James' prize was for Elly to help him with whatever he needed when he asks and El's prize is 30 galleons." Peter finished explaining, leaning back.

"What do you need with 30 galleons El?" Remus asked as I kept maintaining eye contact with James.

"I just need it." I shrugged. "Besides, Potter over here is wealthy enough."

"It's fine Moony, I can afford it." James responded, trying to reassure Remus.

Remus turned back to his open book, sighing. "Alright."

A few more minutes passed when Remus suddenly stood up and dropped his book on the table in front of our eyes.

James, Sirius, and Peter both yelped in surprise, but I kept my composure and managed to not blink. James, on the other hand, didn't and was forced to blink.

"Hey! Moony, what was that for?" Sirius yelled, clutching his chest.

"Relax, you're fine." He answered, laughing a bit as he picked up his book. "El won by the way."

I exclaimed. "Yes!"

"Nooo!" James yelled in surrender. "I was supposed to win."

Sirius walked towards James, patting his back while Peter walked towards me.
