December 31, 1975

As I walk into the potions classroom, I am greeted by the sight of Peter and Sirius talking while Remus peacefully sits down, reading his book. As I near my seat, going to sit down next to Remus, I lay my eyes on the most beautiful arrangement of yellow Dahlias I have ever seen, placed on my desk.

"Whose are these?" I ask the others as I carefully observe the flowers.

"They were there before we came, we think it's for you." Peter responds, pointing to the card on it.

It had looked like it was freshly picked, yet it had looked as if it had been hastily tied with the twine on it having been tied multiple times to move it to place. The card had my name on it, it was handwritten.

I took the bouquet in my hand as I sat down on my seat next to Remus, giving it a sniff before placing it down. It smelled amazing, freshly picked yellow Dahlias were my favorite, always have been since I was younger.

The first memory I had of these flowers was my father teaching us how he planted the flowers in our garden, each of us having a special flower to commemorate our birth.

Snowdrop flowers for Atlas, Peony flowers for Winona, and Yellow Dahlias for me. By the time Oliver was born, my father became so busy that he had forgotten to plant the flower for him, so the twins and I took it upon ourselves to plant it for him.

Our father had luckily chosen one for him, Magnolia flowers, and all we had to do was plant it.

It was a struggle to plant it ourselves and it took a while before Rose and Mr. Ivan came to help us and we finally succeeded in planting it.

Every year on Oliver's birthday, he would bring us to the place where his Magnolia flowers were planted and we would have a picnic there. We never broke this tradition, until now.

I know that he would've loved Hogwarts here.

It must've been just me, but the handwriting seemed familiar.

Before I could guess who it was, Sirius suddenly leaned towards me.

"Some bloke is making a move on our Elpis aren't they?" He asks as he begins to look at the card.

I immediately moved it out of his line of sight, clutching it to my chest.

"What do you think you're doing?" I question him.

He shrugs. "Nothing. I just want to see who's trying to take you from us... and teach them a lesson."

"Teach who a lesson?" James asks as he walks into the room.

"Someone gave Elly some flowers and Sirius is mad about it." Remus says as he closes his book and sets it down.

"Oh, some flowers?" James repeats, smiling. "Who's the secret admirer?"

"I don't know." I told him.

"Whoever it is, Padfoot plans to hurt them." Peter says laughing.

"They better be ready. I'll teach that daft person a lesson." Sirius agrees, punching the air.

I laugh as I push his hands down. "No one's going to take me from you."

"I know they won't. We'll be here to stop them." Sirius tells me, smiling as he gives me a side hug.

"Where were you Prongs?" Peter asked as James sat down next to him in front of Remus and I.

"I was helping Professor Sprout for a bit." He tells us, pulling out his textbook.

"That's nice of you." I smile.

"Of course James Potter would help." Sirius says teasingly.

"Why not help Padfoot?" James jokes back.
