"How are you?"
"The calls kept coming in repeatedly when I came back and turned on the phone. It seems no one got the message." I roll my eyes.
"How were they supposed to?" He asked earnestly. "That's what the phone is for."
"I know." I laughed. "It's a joke, I'm trying to stop stressing about what happened."
"He'll be alright Elly." Evan tries to console me. "He'll wake up any minute now."
"He's been asleep for hours Evan." I look at the time.
Everyone around me had been constantly keeping themselves occupied, the worrying feeling regarding James had been eating away at everyone inside.
Remus had been looking through every book in the library trying to find a quick solution to wake him up, Peter paced around the library near Remus while he waited with baited breathes for news, Monty continuously asked the doctor questions every few second, and Effy following the doctor's orders to the letter. I seemed to be the only one in the house who had an ounce of a calm mind.
"I promise you, he'll wake up. Besides, it might just be allergies or something small."
"That's just the thing, it's not."
"Then what is it?"
"They say he has a fever, a harsh one."
"That was not what I thought he had." Evan groaned into the phone.
"The doctor that came by confirmed it." I choke out.
"Hey. Hey. He'll get through this. James Potter is not so easy to beat." Evan chuckled.
"You might be right, but I mean how can someone get a fever in the summer?" I scoff. "Potter is the only one who would be able to do that. "
"Yeah. Do you remember when I got that cold before our game day?" Evan inquires.
"You fussed non-stop." I giggle. "We all took turns to take care of you between the games since Madam Pomfrey was out."
"See? You're already brightening up."
"You do that to me Evan."
"I'll continue to brighten up your life El." He assures. "Don't you ever doubt that."
"I could never."
"Evan!" A voice shouted from the background of Evan's side of the phone.
"I have to go." Evan quickly said. "Just wait a minute, I'll be back."
"I'll be waiting." I tell him with a tight smile as if he could actually see through the phone.
I stayed on the phone for a while as a hushed conversation went on and then, all of a sudden, the conversation became as clear as day. The words coming out of their mouths made me rethink my entire life as the talking continued.
"How are you doing with the muggle?" A voice I assume is his father seethes out. "Are you making any bloody progress with that yet?"
"Yes." Evan quickly answered. "I've been making great progress and I swear I won't let him down."
"I have told you time and time again, this is your first independent mission that I convinced him to give you, you understand that right?"
"I understand father, but-."
"No buts! He expects a great deal of progress on this, when you finally get her on our side, things will start to look up for you for the first time since your initiation."
