December 23, 1975

I walked back inside the house after practicing sword techniques for a few hours to clattering noises and shouts ringing throughout the house.

I stopped Rose to ask her what was going on. Rose has been our help since the twins were born, my siblings and I always regarded her as family.

"Hey, Rosie. What's going on?" I asked her, stopping in the back entrance way.

Rose looked over at me smiling. "You're back my dear." She said as she placed a hand on my face.

I smiled back.

"Your mother is inviting some guests over. Do you remember?"

"Ah. Yes. The Volants Right?"

"Yes my dear. She's ordering us to do everything right now. Woke up right after us to start ordering us around." Rose said as she raised her eyebrows.

I laughed. "I apologize for her."

Rose softly smiled. "It's not your fault my dear Hope, you rest. You've been outside since 4. You're running on 6 hours of sleep right now."

"I'm fine. I promise Rosie. Now is there anything I can do to help?" I asked as she stared into my face trying to see if I was lying.

"We'll be fine, Hope. Now you can go take a shower and come down after. Your mother picked out a dress for you." She told me to adjust the tray she was holding with one hand.

"Ugh. Now?" I said, groaning.

Rose gave my cheek one more pat before bringing it down to carry the tray of plates. "Don't be difficult, Hope, you can come help us after you get cleaned."

"Alright then. Thank you Rosie, I'll be back." I said as I ran off to shower and change.

"Don't run in the house Hope, you'll trip." She yelled after me as I made my way up the stairs.

"I'll be fine!" I said as I got to my room.

After I finished showering, I went to my closet to see what my mother had chosen for me.

It was a dark green dress.

My mother always seemed to have a fixation with green and me, maybe that's why one of those rare moments where I've seen her so proud of me was when I was sorted into Slytherin. Atlas had told her by accident one day, he had apologized profusely in the letter, but I didn't mind, she couldn't do anything to me while I was at Hogwarts I would always think before I met someone as equally bad.

Atlas told me how she was so proud that I was in Slytherin and how I'll be a much better daughter for that. The irony is, she hated me nonetheless.

I threw on the dark green dress and sat down at my desk. Snow had returned with some letters so I sat down to read them.

I stroked her head and gave her a pat, thanking her as I took a seat.

There were 12 letters and it would be a whole journey to read them all, so I made myself comfortable. I moved the chair closer to the desk and folded my legs, beginning to read the letters.

It took me almost an hour to read all of the letters, but to summarize.

Sirius wrote to me, complaining about Remus and James being smothering about his pranks and Minnie and Peter refusing to help him as well as him noticing something was off with Regulus and he wanted to ask me about it.

Peter wrote about how he missed me and Remus wasn't much help and how it would've been better if I stayed, but he hoped I have fun where I am and can't wait to see me soon.
