The early morning sun rays were beaming through the blinds causing Olivia to stir in her sleep. Cradling a pillow she hugged it tighter while pulling the blankets closer to her body to avoid the cold drift that was felt throughout her room. In the winters it had felt like an icebox. Leaving her to linger in bed, not wanting to get up and brace the cold, until the sound of pots banging against another caught her attention.
Olivia shifted turning over to feel the empty bed beside her and immediately knew who'd been downstairs. A small groan escaped her wanting nothing more than to stay in bed, but another crash of pots was heard when she knew it was time to get up. With her bedroom door cracked open, the aromas from the kitchen seeped through, causing a reaction out of Olivia. Shutting her eyes she basked in the sweet and salty smell that lingered in the air.
A pleasant moan escaped her when she got up. Grabbing the green pullover hoodie that hung on her desk chair she put it on almost collapsing from the smells that infatuated her senses. It'd smelt like a mix of a sweet softener, and the reminisce of a cologne. Cuddling against the hoodie, Olivia sighed before exiting her room and making her way to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Walking down the stairs she made her way to the kitchen.
Slowing to a stop a smile spread across her lips seeing the island decorated with a fresh pot of coffee, orange juice, a stack of pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Her heart melted, while the mesmerizing aromas filled the air. Spencer stopped for a brief moment catching her gaze from the stairs. "Good morning,". His deep voice rumbled in his chest as Olivia hummed loving every word he spoke. Walking over to him, she wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling against his lips. "Good morning to you too,". Leaning in to place a kiss on his lips, Spencer matched her smile. Olivia softly whispered opening her eyes to meet his brown ones.
"I hope I wasn't being too loud. I kind of wanted to surprise you this morning,". Olivia looked around the island when she smiled. "No, yeah I see that. What's the special occasion?". A slight gasp escaped her covering her mouth. "Did I forget your birthday?". The fear in her face washed away the second Spencer interlaced his hands in hers, letting out a laugh. "It's not my birthday,". Olivia sighed a relief. She kept guessing thinking she must've missed something.
"No, Liv it's not for anything special. I just kind of wanted to surprise you. I know this past week...I've been a lot to handle. And I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me,". Olivia widened her eyes agreeing. "On second thought you might need to make me a few more where that came from,". Olivia laughed when Spencer scrunched his eyebrows not amused.
"I wasn't that bad,". Olivia stopped pouring her cup of coffee when her laughter quickly died down. "You can't be serious? Want to rephrase that sentence? Should I even start with how many times I had to stop you from going to practice with the boys?". Spencer rocked his head from side to side forgetting about the little details Olivia always seemed to remember. "Okay you may have a point,". Spencer smiled when Olivia nodded before looking back to the array of breakfast options. "Thank you Spence but you didn't have to..." Olivia trailed. Cutting her off he kissed her cheek softly. "I wanted to,". A smile never left her lips when she stopped for a moment scrunching her eyebrows.
"Speaking of taking it easy, arent you supposed to be doing exactly that?" Spencer, it's only been a week and if you want to get better you actually have to rest,". Olivia let out a long sigh. She sounded like a broken record all week trying to get him to rest, and judging by his line of sight she knew he hadn't been paying much attention. "Are you even listening?" Olivia asked. Spencer nodded, interlacing his hands in hers, he leaned in, whispering against her lips.
"You know if I knew my Crenshaw hoodie would look this good on you. I would've given it to you months ago,". Placing a soft kiss on her lips she groaned. Smiling against his lips she shook her head. "Stop trying to distract me from yelling at you,". Spencer softly laughed. "Is it working?". "No...yes..maybe?". Olivia rolled her eyes caving in.
