I woke up to the familiar sound of wings fluttering outside my bedroom door. I sit up in bed, frowning in confusion. My brothers were in the rooms across from me, but as odd as they may be, I didn't think they fluttered. Then there's a soft knock on the door. I sigh, getting out of bed to stumble over to it. I unlock it, then slowly pull the handle and an audible gasp leaves my lips when I see who is on the other side. "Gabriel! What on earth are you doing here?" I whisper yell. I grab his sleeve and pull him into my room, then quickly shut the door behind me. He smiles "Relax, no one saw me". I sigh "Gabe, you weren't supposed to follow us. Dean will flip when he sees you". He walks over to me, then puts his arms around my waist to pull me closer to him "I don't care if he sees me, sweetheart. I wanted to see you, I missed you". I frown as I play with his jacket sleeve "I missed you too. But he isn't ever going to trust you". He smiles slightly "Well, I'm not going anywhere. So he'll just have to deal with it". He sighs as he looks at me "I just don't know what his problem is". I shrug "Well, you did kill him over 100 times". He nods "Yeah, that's true. I did do that". I sigh quietly, pulling him closer to me
"Gabriel, he isn't ever going to change his mind about you. So, there's no point in trying". My eyes fill with tears as his expression turns a little more serious "Hey, don't say that. We'll be fine, you'll see". Tears fall down my cheeks and he softens. He rubs my arm comfortingly "Hey, shh. Don't cry, sweetheart. It's okay. Listen to me, okay? If this is you trying to break up with me, I won't have it. Y/n, I don't care who supports us or not. But I am not letting you go, no matter what. We decided to be together, alright? It's our decision. I've been around for a long time and I've never felt this way about anyone. No one has made me feel the way you do. And I don't want to lose that. I don't want to lose you. Please, y/n. Don't give up on this just because someone said they don't approve". I sigh "Gabe, that someone is my brother. I can't just...". "What?" He questions softly. I sniffle as he reaches up to wipe my tears with his thumb. When I don't say anything, he runs both of his hands down my arms until he is holding my hands "Y/n, I know you don't want this to end. I know that, you can't tell me you don't want to be with me". I frown "Gabriel, I...". "Talk to me, sweetheart. I'm right here" He mumbles, gently encouraging me. "I don't want to lose you, Gabriel" I reply quietly. He brings one of my hands up to his lips to kiss my knuckles, then he rubs his thumb over the back of it "You don't have to worry about that, sugar. You won't... You can't lose me, ever. Okay? I won't let that happen". I sigh "I don't know what I'm gonna do, Gabe". He smiles slightly, giving my hand a gentle squeeze "We'll figure it out, I promise".

The next morning

"Y/n, what the hell is he doing here? I thought I told you I don't want you seeing him anymore" Dean grumbles. I frown "I didn't ask him to come". He glares at the archangel beside me, then looks back at me. I sigh "Dean, you can't make me stop seeing him. I... It isn't your decision to make". Gabriel steps forward a little, then puts his arm in front of me "Y/n, you don't have to do that. It's okay". Dean continues to glare at him "Alright, fine. But if he's staying, he better keep his hands to himself". I look at Sam, hoping he will say something. He sighs "Dean, leave it. We can deal with this later. Right now, we have some people to save". Upset that Sam didn't take his side, he wordlessly storms off to the car. "What's the case anyway, Sam?" I ask, ignoring my oldest brother's temper. "We think demons are possessing a town" He replies before following after Dean. I look at Gabriel. "Gabe, please don't listen to my brother. Don't leave, I need you here" I tell him. He smiles softly "Believe me, a protective older brother is the least of my concerns. I won't leave your side". He winks at me, making me giggle.

Hours later

Turns out there was a whole bunch of demons possessing half the town and the other half are dead. It was a trap for us and we fell right into it. We are currently in a random cold, dark basement. And they have us surrounded. We killed as many as we could, but there was way too many. So we ran and hid. We have no idea who's behind it. Gabe snaps his fingers and a light flickers on. We can see each other, but the rest of the room is pitch dark. "Y/n, you alright?" I hear Dean ask faintly. However, Gabriel was already making sure of that. He smiles slightly as he gently lifts my arm. I flinch, snatching it back "Ouch". He furrows his eyebrows "What happened there?". I shrug "A demon cut my arm before I killed him". He sighs "Why didn't you tell me?". "We were a little occupied at the time" I mumble. "Let me see" He replies. I roll my sleeve up to my elbow, revealing the gash on my forearm. He tuts before gently lifting my arm again. Then he places his other hand over the gash. I wince when it stings "Ouch, Gabe. Stop, it hurts". He rolls his eyes playfully "If you stop squirming, it'll hurt less, sweet cheeks". I frown at the stinging sensation. He hums "Hey, did you hear about the guy who cut off the left side of his body?". I furrow my eyebrows "What?". He smiles "He's all right now". I giggle, rolling my eyes "That was terrible". He chuckles "But you laughed". I hum "Yeah, I did". He takes his hand off of my arm "And you are no longer wounded". I chuckle "That was sneaky".

Third POV

Dean frowns, watching Gabriel heal his little sister. He didn't even notice she got hurt. What was happening? He looks at Sam "What does she see in him anyway?". His younger brother glances over and his gaze doesn't waver as he watches them. A small smile grows on his face "Honestly, I don't know, Dean. But look at them. She has never been this happy. Must count for something, right?". Dean frowns "Yeah, but Gabriel? Out of literally everyone in the universe, she picked him. And I'll never understand why. I don't trust him, Sammy". Sam sighs "Dean, I know that's not true. Deep down, you do trust him. You're just upset that she has found someone else who will drop everything to make sure she is safe. That used to be you. Hell, it used to be me too. Of course, I didn't trust him at first. But then I watched them together. All you need to do is look. Just watch how he looks at her, acts around her and how she is totally, completely comfortable with him. He isn't going to hurt her, Dean. He won't let anything happen to her. He's an archangel. She is safer with him than she ever has been with us. I know it sucks to hear that, but it's true". Dean sighs and nods "You're right, Sam. Unfortunately, you are right".

First POV

I hug him tightly, burying my face into his chest. He puts his arms around me and I feel him kiss my head. "You okay, sweetheart?" He mumbles. I shake my head, my hand finding the cuff of his jacket sleeve "No, I'm scared". He rubs my back a little "It's okay, I'm here. I won't let anything hurt you". "We're gonna die in here" I frown. He chuckles softly "Well, I won't". I whack him with my hand and he smiles "Y/n, we aren't gonna die in here". "Can you not poof us out of here?" I question as I look up at him. He sighs "If I could, we wouldn't still be here. I can't do that, I'm sorry, sweetheart". I tilt my head "Why not?". He rubs my arm soothingly "I don't have enough Grace to get us out without us getting caught". "What about your illusions? You could distract them while we run" I pout. He smiles "That's not a bad idea, sugar. But I've never tried it on demons before. It might put all of us in danger and we can't risk that, right?". I slowly nod as I look at the ground to avoid his gaze "Yeah, I guess". He tilts my chin up with his hand "Hey, we'll figure a way out, alright?". I nod again "Okay". I lean against him a little and he happily lets me. His expression softens as he looks at me. His whiskey eyes holding a gentle glint in them, as ever when he knows I need him nearby to feel safe. He raises his hand to push some of my hair back behind my ear. "I'm here, sweetheart. I'm not going anywhere" He mumbles. "Promise?" I question him. He smiles slightly "I promise". "You ain't ever gonna lose me, baby" He winks. I blush "Okay". He chuckles softly, then I gasp as a light bulb switches on in my head. Gabe jumps slightly "What?". "Cas can get us out. The demons only know that we are here. They won't be expecting him" I tell him. He smiles "Hey, you're right. Go tell your brothers". She grins, pulling away from him to skip over to Sam and Dean.

Gabe chuckles softly to himself. Yes, he is very much in love with her. He never imagined he would love anyone like this. And he knows because it's different with her. A good different. She is the complete opposite of him, but it just works. He feels a strong need to protect her all the time. He would do anything for her. At first, he thought he might've been under some kind of spell or even just a dream. But if it is, he hopes to his father that it doesn't ever wear off or he never wakes up. He can't bear the thought of her being in danger and not being able to protect her. She is naturally reckless and sometimes it's difficult to keep up, even for an archangel. But he wouldn't change it for the world. Of all the goddesses and whatever else he's been with before, he would go straight back to y/n. If he had to crawl, swim or fly, he would get back to her in a heartbeat. No one is as important to him as her. And nothing means more to him than her feeling safe with him.

When he snaps out of his thoughts, Cas has arrived. He walks over to the group, standing beside y/n. "Hey, bro" He grins. Cas looks at him "Gabriel".
