It was a quiet night in Gabriel's safe house. And his five-year-old daughter was thankfully peacefully sleeping in her bed. He had tucked her in a few hours ago, but now he was pacing up and down the floor of the living room. He had no idea what to do. He was hidden from Heaven. The angels thought he was dead. Him and his daughter were safer than safe. But a certain Dean Winchester broke the first seal of the Apocalypse. And now his brother broke the final seal. Lucifer is now walking the earth. And Gabriel was terrified. Not for his sake, but he did so well keeping her out of other angels' radars. Heaven isn't even aware of her existence. But now his dear older brother walks free from his cage. Which means Reese is in danger. If Lucifer or Michael found out about her, they would kill her. She is a Nephilim, the offspring of an angel and a human. Her mother didn't survive the birth and he felt guilty as it was only supposed to be a one night stand. So, he decided to raise her and he thought he had done a good job of keeping her safe up until now. The Winchesters had just made things a lot more difficult for him. He was hoping his brother would only be interested in them and not sense the Nephilim. But he knew that was just wishful thinking. His brothers can't stand the thought of anything being more powerful than them. And even though she is only five and her powers haven't surfaced yet, she would still grow up and only get more powerful. So, they would still kill her. But Gabriel would die himself before he'd let that happen.

When Reese was a baby, Gabe placed an enochian protection spell over her. Which hides her from all angels, including him. So, he always told her not to wander too far away from him. Gabriel never expected to be raising a child. It's the last thing anyone would expect from him. If that had been what he wanted, he wouldn't want to constantly hide them from the world and have them grow up knowing there are things out there that want to kill them. That's what he was afraid of, but she had grown on him in such a short amount of time. And he would never think about giving her up now, that would just put her in more danger. Besides, he likes having her around. There are only two angels that know she exists. One of them found out accidentally and the other one helped with the protection spell. Castiel and Balthazar. But he made them both swear not to breathe a word about her when they were out and about. You never know who's listening and he can't have angels or demons knowing. But Reese wasn't safe now anyway, Lucifer would find him or the Winchesters will need his help.

Gabriel was pulled out of his thoughts when he felt a tug on his jeans. He looked down to see his daughter, Reese. He chuckles "Hey, baby girl. What are you doing up?". He picks her up from under her arms, then sits her on his hip. "It's morning!" She replies. He smiles "Sorry to burst your bubble, Reesy. But it's still nighttime, it's not morning yet". He looked at the clock on the wall and it says half one, so technically she wasn't wrong. But it was still way too early for her to be up. She buries her face into his shoulder "I can't sleep". "Oh, well... let's see what we can do about that" He tells her. He carries her back to her room, then puts her on the bed. But she doesn't let go of him. He chuckles softly as he kneels beside the bed. She sits in front of him and he smiles "Well, this doesn't look much like trying to sleep, Reesy". Her hand still hasn't let go of his jacket. "I'm not tired, daddy" She mumbles. He sighs "Want me to stay here with you until you fall asleep?". She nods "Okay". He gently makes her let go of his jacket "Alright, you get under the covers then". He watches as she crawls over to her pillow, then lies on her back. He fixes the duvet on top of her, then stands up to walk round to the other side of the bed. He sits on top of the covers and lies on his side. She moves closer to him and he puts his arms around her. When she put her head on his chest, he knew she was just making up excuses to get him to stay with her. She wasn't a fan of sleeping by herself, so he should've expected it. He sighs "Reese, if you needed me to help you sleep. All you had to do was ask". He runs his hand through her hair, then kisses the top of her head. She looks up at him and he sighs "Reesy, do you remember when I told you that we might have to leave here?". She nods. "Okay, well that might be happening soon. It isn't safe for us anymore, so we have to go somewhere else" He explains. "Where?" She asks. He hums "I'm not sure, baby". She frowns "I wanna stay with you". He sighs "I know. I'm gonna do my best to keep it that way".
