She could see his wings and assumed everyone else could too. No one spoke about them, so she just thought it was disrespectful or rude to ask about them. And so, she simply admired them until he caught her gaze.
______

They took my breath away every time I looked at them. They were extraordinary. Not that Gabriel himself wasn't. He was amazing and definitely wasn't unattractive. But his wings were a sight to behold. I wondered why no one else admired them, but maybe it was because they had known him for longer and his wings were old news now. But I couldn't take my eyes off of them whenever he visited. The detail in each individual feather was exquisite. I met him on a hunt five years ago when he saved me, Dean and Sam from being eaten alive. Literally. And that was the first time I laid eyes on his wings and they seemed to get more beautiful every time I saw them. Not only that, but the angel who occupied them had managed to sneak his way into my heart. Not that he knew, of course. But underneath all the mischief, witty remarks and cheeky smirks, he is really sweet. He's always been there for me. I've been on a few hunts with him, just ourselves and he's been nothing but helpful, charming and surprisingly protective. Of course, he has his moments, but he can be serious when he wants to be.

Sam and Dean were out on a hunt, so I had the bunker to myself. Or, so I thought until I walked in to the main room to see Gabriel in all his glory. All of his six wings on display. "Gabe, what are you doing here?" I ask. He chuckles "What, I can't pop in and say hi to my favourite human?". I smile slightly "No, I just wasn't expecting to see you. Well, I wasn't expecting to see anyone, actually". He shrugs "Alright, I'll just go then". "No! I mean... stay if you want. I don't mind" I reply, blushing a little. He smirks "Well, in that case...". He plops himself on to a chair in the library, then puts his boot covered feet on the table. I shake my head at him, unable to keep the smile off my face "You are unbelievable". He grins cheekily "Why, thank you". I sigh, glancing at his wings again. I wondered how he managed to fit in the chair with his wings. "Hey, you okay?" He asks, snapping me out of my thoughts. "What? Oh, yeah... yeah, I'm fine" I stutter a little. He raises an eyebrow, but waves it off. To change the subject quickly, I suggest to play a game.

He raises an eyebrow "What kind of game?". I shrug "Are you afraid you'll lose to a girl at Connect Four?". He chuckles "Awfully confident there. But no, not at all". He pauses to snap his fingers and a connect four game appears on the middle of the table, set up with the yellow and red counters on either side. A small smirk appears on his face "Let the games begin".

Later

I didn't need to look at the board, the smug look on his face gave it away as he popped one of his red counters into a slot, making yet another four in a row. I groan in frustration "How is that even possible?! You must be cheating". He gasps "I would never". His golden feathers perked up with the grin he was wearing. "Up for another round?" He offers. I cross my arms stubbornly "What's the point if I'm just gonna keep losing?". He smiles "Come on. One more game". He releases all the counters from the board, then motions towards me "Ladies first". I sigh before picking up a yellow counter, then drop it into the middle slot. Gabe whistles "You always seem to go for the middle, don't you?". I shrug "It's a strategy". He chuckles before dropping one of his counters into a slot. This goes on for a few minutes until we are at a point where either of us could win. It's his turn. He picks up his counter, pursing his lips in thought before glancing at me. He sighs quietly before dropping it into a slot away from the one he needed to win. I furrowed my eyebrows, wondering if he didn't see his chance. But the thought is quickly erased from my brain as I grin widely, realising that I'm finally going to win. I drop my counter in before yelling "Ha!". He chuckles leaning back in his seat lazily "Aw, man". I grin at him "I win! Finally, now I'll be able to tell everyone that I managed to beat an archangel at such a simple game". He smiles, looking at the table for a moment before clicking his tongue "Now, now. Don't be too hasty, sweetheart. I still beat you a million times before you did". I shrug "Still". He shakes his head in amusement before starting to put the game and the counters back in the box. I took this time to look at his wings.
