Part 2 of Surprise
_______

4 months later

I whine "Gabriel!". "What's wrong, sweetheart? I'm here, you don't have to yell" He replies, walking into my room. I pout, holding my arms out "I want you to cuddle me". He smiles softly "Sure, there's just something I need to take care of first, alright?". "Yeah, me. You need to take care of me. So, cuddle me" I reply. He chuckles before walking over to the bed. Then he crawls over to me, allowing me to put my arms around him. He kisses my cheek, then puts his hand on my stomach "How's this one doing? You aren't sore or anything, are you?". I shake my head "No, but I think I'm getting stretch marks already". He smiles "It's normal, Y/n. Don't worry and don't you dare start feeling insecure about it because I will tickle you". I giggle "Don't tickle me, Gabe". He smiles, rubbing my stomach a little and I sigh "I'm sorry if I'm wearing you down". He shakes his head "No, no. You're not, sweetheart. I'm fine, I promise. Honestly, I like taking care of you". I nod "Okay, good".

Later, third POV

Y/n was sound asleep and Gabriel was sitting up beside her. He took this time to check on the baby. He does it whenever she falls asleep just to make sure everything is okay. He lightly puts his hand on her stomach without waking her up and because of his heightened angel senses, he could hear the baby's heart beating. He smiles "Hi, baby. I hope you are being good in there. Your mama tells me you are, but you're still half me. So, I'm not sure she's being entirely truthful". In response to his voice, the baby kicks and he chuckles softly "Please don't wake her up, baby. She's exhausted". He hums quietly and it was then he felt something strange. It was another kick, but from the other side of her stomach. He furrowed his eyebrows, slowly moving his hand over to where he felt the kick and he heard the tiniest, faintest heart beat. There was two hearts beating in there. He looks at Y/n for a second and takes a breath. Alright, that did it. They were going to a hospital in the morning.

The next morning

Gabriel took Y/n to the hospital and they were in a room, waiting for the doctor. "Gabe, do you think there's something wrong?" She asks. He stops pacing to look at her "What? No, no. Everything's fine, sweetheart. I just need a second opinion on something. Don't worry". She nods "Oh... okay". As he takes her hand, she felt a kick and flinched. She frowns "Ouch". Gabe chuckles softly "Looks like someone is feeling left out". He puts his hand on her stomach, rubbing his thumb over the soft skin and it seemed to soothe the baby. "I think it's a baby you" She giggles. He glares at her playfully "Hey". That's when the door opens and the doctor comes in "Hello, you two. I'm Dr Connelly, I'll be your doctor for the next few months". Gabe smiles "Hi, I'm Gabriel. Or Gabe, this is Y/n".

Y/n's POV

"So, Y/n. Before we get started, do you mind answering a few questions?" She asks. I shrug "Sure". She smiles, getting a clipboard out "Great. Can I ask for your last name?". "Winchester" I reply. She nods "Okay, and Gabriel here is the father, correct?". "I should hope so" He comments. I whack his arm, making him chuckle. I sigh "Yes, unfortunately, Gabriel is the father". She smiles "Alright, have you felt anything unusual so far in your pregnancy?". I shake my head "I don't think so". She nods "Good. Now, let's get started".

Gabriel moves to stand out of the way a little, but I grab his hand, stopping him "No". He nods, mumbling "Okay". He brings my hand up to his lips to kiss my knuckles. Then he rubs his thumb over the back of my hand. Dr Connelly comes back with the ultrasound scanner "Okay, are you ready, Y/n?". I nod, resting my head against Gabriel's torso. She smiles "Alright, so this gel might feel a little cold at first. But it won't hurt. Can you lift your shirt a little?". I do as told, revealing my baby bump. She gently puts the gel on my skin. I jumped at the coldness of it, but Gabe rubbed my back a little, soothing me. Then she pressed the scanner against my stomach and slowly moved it over the gel and then an image appears on the screen. She smiles "There are two separate heart beats in there". I furrowed my eyebrows "Yeah, mine and the baby's, right?". She chuckles, shaking her head "No, your heartbeat is perfectly fine,
Y/n. But there are two in your stomach. Congratulations, you're having twins". She takes her stethoscope off, then gives it to me "You can listen for yourself. I'll be back in a minute, I just need to print out the sonogram for you". When she leaves the room, I look at Gabriel "Twins? Gabe, no. I... I can't". He sits on the bed with me "Y/n, you can't say no, sweetheart. But it's gonna be okay. You can do it, I know you can. But just think, two is better than one, right?". His voice is soft and comforting. I nod slowly "I guess. But I'm barely ready to have one, never mind two". He sighs "You are ready. Stop saying you're not. I know you are just trying to scare yourself. But I believe you can do this. You're not alone, you have me, your brothers, Cas. You have so much support. And I have no doubt that you are gonna be an incredible mother". I nod "Okay, you're right". He takes the stethoscope "Wanna listen?". I nod again. He helps me put it on with one of the ear pieces out so I can still hear him. Then he gently presses the resonator on to my stomach. It felt cold, but the thought disappeared when I heard a faint heartbeat that wasn't mine. "Here's baby number one" He tells me. He keeps it there for a few minutes, letting me listen. Then he moves it to the other side of my stomach "And here's baby number two". I look at him, smiling a little "Gabriel, we... we have two babies". He chuckles, nodding "Yeah, we do, sweetheart". I take a shaky breath as he moves the resonator up to my chest, making me laugh. He smiles softly. "Can I listen to yours, Gabe?" I ask. He nods "Sure". Moving a little closer to me, he puts it on his own chest where his heart is. I feel a tiny smile grow on my face, almost sighing in relief. I was half expecting not to hear anything. But it's there. He smiles softly "It's always there, sweetheart".

He carefully takes the stethoscope off of me and then puts it to the side. "Are you okay with this? The twin thing" I ask. He chuckles "Am I okay with it? Yes, of course I am". That's when the doctor came back in with two envelopes "So, this is your sonogram". She gives the first envelope to me, then smiles "This one is the documents that will reveal the genders. Would you like to know? We'll keep it here for you if you don't". Gabe looks at me "It's up to you. Do you want to know?". I nod "Yeah, I think so". He smiles "Okay. Yes, we would like to know". She nods "Great". She opens the envelope "So, baby number one is a boy and baby number two is a girl". I smile "Well, now we have one of each!". Gabe chuckles "Yeah, we do. Thanks, doc".
