We lived in routine for the next week and a half, everyday the same, except this time it wouldn't have to be done alone.

They covered more ground when together, Davina had noticed the pair walk for longer, and faster than she had alone.

"I'm breaking the routine." Davina spoke suddenly, taking a left instead of going straight.

"What?"

Bucky stumbled after her, confusion displaying across his face.

"Hello? Where are we going Vina?"

Davina ignored him and continued walking with determination onwards, to God knows where.

"Hey! - Davina Stop!"

He grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to face him.

Unfortunately that simple act didn't go as smoothly as one may have thought.

The tip of her boot caught under an uprooted branch as she stumbled forwards and smacked her forehead into his chest.

"OW- Fuck."

"Jesus Davina."

Bucky held onto her by her shoulder and lowered his head. He removed his right hand from her shoulder and used it to brush back the hair covering her face to get a better look at her forehead.

Davina stared directly into his eyes as he search for any kind of injury across her face.

Bucky sighed after a few minutes and tapped her left cheek lightly twice.

"Your fine come on."

"Wow geez, thanks for the consideration asshole." Davina stifled a laugh as the two continued to walk.

"Your the one who fell over their own feet." Bucky smirked to himself.

"Yeah cause you yanked me backwards dipshit-."

"Oh well." Bucky smiled wickedly, tilting his head only to be faced with Davina's annoyed expression.

"Oh well? Seriously? My head hurts."

"Karma for not telling me where we're going."

Davina couldn't help but laugh as she breathed out heavily.

"We're going to stock up on supplies, we're running now on food and I need another knife handle, mines cracked."

"Okay." Bucky spoke, a tense expression clearly visible across his rough features.

"I think we could also really benefit from a home cooked meal. I got a friend who lives up here, owes me a favour. Im starving, man it's been a while since i've eaten good food, I miss that."

Bucky nodded slightly, the thought of staying under someone else's roof made him feel uneasy. He had already taking what was left of his trust in looking for Davina, not much was left.

Davina walked in front of him and stopped so she was facing him.

She crossed her arms across her chest and inhaled before addressing the uneasiness displayed on Bucky's face.

"She's a friend, trust me, we can trust her." Her voice seemed to melt Bucky's brain, there was just something about it that made him feel something he hadn't felt in a long time. Safe. She made him feel safe.

Bucky looked down so his eyes locked with hers. Pity danced behind her eyes. Pity for him.

Bucky sighed sharply as his eyes darted away from her pitiful gaze. "Don't look at me like that Davina."

Davina's brows furrowed together and her eyes crinkled slightly.

"How am I looking at you?"

"Like i'm something that has to be fixed."

Davina's breath hitched as she looked down at her boots.

Her arms loosened and she let them fall to her sides, unsure of what to say next.

Davina fiddled with her thumbs, eager to let this conversation end and just continue walking, it was only an hours walk away anyways.

"I'm sorry." Bucky rubbed the back of his neck as he broke the silence.

Davina's head snapped back up to look him in the eye, her loose bun shaking slightly at the sudden movement.

"Sorry? What on Earth are you sorry for Buck?"

"Crashing in on your travels." He grinned, clearly trying to change the topic.

A wicked smile grew on Davina's face and she laughed.

"Are you insane? I was already dead from utter boredom, trust me, its better to run with you than to run alone. Besides, if I didn't want you here, I would have made you leave Buck."

Davina saw a small smile begin to rise on Bucky's face and without a second thought she wrapped her arms tightly around him.

At first Bucky didn't do anything, he stood extremely still. She felt his muscles tense up under her sudden touch of affection.

Shit. Shit. Shit

Davina loosened her hold, ready to pull away.

But before she could take an unsteady step back, strong arms snaked around her waist and held her tight.

She felt his chin rest lightly on top of her head as she rested her own head against his chest and breathed a breath of release.

Davina listened to his heart fluttering loudly as he moved one hand to hold the back of her head, holding her close.

It was over much too soon for her liking.

The two pulled away at the same time and shared a few awkward coughs and weak glances before continuing on in the direction to the slowly growing town in the distance.

Davina couldn't help but feel the heat rise on her cheeks as they walked in silence.

She stole a small glance at Bucky, who was walking beside her with a little smile relaxed onto his usually dull expression.

Davina smiled to herself as the pair walked side by side.
