[THIRD PERSON POV]

Soft country music playing through a beaten down, red trucks radio was the cause for Davina's eyes to flutter open, consciousness started to break through her exhausted figure.

The girl sat up straight, whipping her head around, facing her saviour from the night before.

"Good morning." The woman smiled, eyes fixed on the road.

Davina said nothing, her chapped lips slightly open, eyes wild and crazed.

The woman glanced over at Davina before quickly switching her gaze back on the road. Davina looked outside, the roads were different, more cars around, less snow.

"Found you out all alone in the snow last night, looks like you've been through hell.. Want to tell me what happened?"

Davina remained silent, unsure if she should trust the stranger who picked her up in the middle of the night, saving her from certain hypothermia and death.

"That's okay, you don't have to tell me.. Where are you heading-"

"Who are you?" Davina cut her off, eyebrows furrowed together.

The woman looked taken aback, as if she didn't expect Davina to speak at all. "My name is Laura."

Davina nodded, shifting in her seat to face the road, no longer staring at the other brunette.

The woman who introduced herself as Laura glanced over towards Davina for another split second. "Mind telling me who you are?"

Davina's mind surged as a forgotten memory pushed its way through her brain. "Alexa." The fake name spurted memories from her first week in the compound. Back when things were so much simpler than they now are.

Laura nodded. Davina couldn't help but feel a strong sense of knowing, like she knew Laura from somewhere. Her face seemed so familiar, like she'd seen it before. In person or maybe on a... Photograph.

Davina's head snapped towards Laura. Laura Barton

She reached out, pulling the steering wheel to the side of the road, causing Clint Bartons wife to slam down on the breaks.

"Jesus! What the hell is-"

"Your Laura Barton.." Davina mumbled, causing the other girl to shut her mouth instantly, fear clearly surging through her at the sound of a stranger addressing her by her full name.

"How do you know me..?" She whispered in shock, putting the car into park.

Davina's eyes were wide and she turned the car off park, urging Laura to continue driving. The Barton woman obliged, a slight tremble to her hands as she took hold of the steering wheel and continued to head down the road.

"I need you to take me to the compound!" Davina yelled, shocking herself at the sudden raise of her own voice.

"The comp- What? Who are you!?"

"Laura, I work with your husband, Clint Barton! Now please, I need you to take me to the compound." Davina pleaded.

Confusion spread across Laura's face. "That's not possible. I know everyone my husband works with and he has never mentioned an Alexa." Laura seemed to almost spit out Davina's false name.

Davina's head pounded as she racked her brain on what to do next. "Jesus! Fine! My name isn't Alexa it's Davina! Now just drive faster please!"

☆☆☆

Davina thanked Laura hesitantly as she shoved her body out from the truck a few miles away from the compound. If Laura drove any closer, it would set off alarms in the compound, and Davina couldn't deal with all that, not today.
