"Wake up... Please."

A pitiful voice was the awakening sound for Davina Penton. Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up as her view adjusted, taking in everything that took place the day before.

A tall blond figure sat on the metal chair, leaning slightly on the back two legs.

As Davina's vision started to clear, she recognised the blondie as Steve. Her eyes grew cold and the girl shuffled out of the bedsheets and leant her back against the wall so she was facing the man.

He sighed and wiped a hand through his hair.

"Look kid-"

"Don't call me that." Davina's voice croaked slightly from the restless sleep she had just awoken from.

"Well a name would be great but you haven't provided one." He looked up, his eyes seemed tired, broken almost.

A cold shiver whirled its way down her mind, she opened her mouth but no words left it.

"Well? I know you can talk, you certainly had a lot to say yesterday."

"Alexa. Alexa Mikaelson."

The world was an unsafe place if it knew of your name, another thing Hydra had done well to teach her from a young age. Names became a dangerous thing once they are known, makes it a lot harder to stay in the dark.

"Well then, Alexa. I think it's time you started talking."

Davina's eyes narrowed and her mouth stayed in a thin line.

The two stared at each other, determination obviously displayed across both's expression.

It wasn't long before Steve sighed and leaned forward on his elbows. Although he was on the other side of the room, Davina couldn't help but lean a few millimetres closer to the wall.

"Alexa, look, I know you think that what your doing is right, you think that by concealing Bucky Barnes you are protecting him." He paused slightly. "But your not, you have no idea what that man is capable of, you don't know him as well as you think you do."

Davina's lips parted slightly, her brain hammering for a clever response. However, Steve started speaking again before she could come up with a witty comment.

"It's safer for everyone if he's here. Please, i'm begging you. Tell me where he is, you can go, once he's okay... he can go too."

"He's not broken." Davina shot back.

"Excuse me?"

"Bucky. He was your best friend and you talking about him like he's a broken object that needs to be fixed."

"That wasn't-"

"I'm going to say the same exact thing I told you yesterday."

Steve leaned back onto the metal back of the chair, eyebrows raised slightly, awaiting her speech.

"Not everyone wants to be saved."

"Trust me, Bucky wants to be saved." Steve scoffed.

"Oh yeah? Then why isn't he here?"

Davina leaned forward, elbows resting on her kneecaps. He face seemed to be challenging Steve to a fight.

He bit his bottom lip and stood up, the metal chair legs scraping against the floor tiles.

Steve got to the door and stopped, he didn't turn around as he spoke.

"Ring the bell when your ready to talk kid." He gestured towards the blue button next to the door. "And remember, we aren't your enemy Miss Mikaelson."

He left the room, taking long strides away from her cell.

Davina racked at her brain furiously, desperately searching for the right answer, the answer she longed for.

Steve was Bucky's best friend, he wouldn't do anything bad... would he?

How far would Steve be willing to go to get his former buddy back? At what lengths would he stop until he got what he thought was best?

And then there was the obvious factor, what would Bucky think of her when they got him, what would he say to her, would he even be able to look her in the eyes, or would she be faced with the back of his head.

Davina's mind seemed to be screeching at her, screeching at her to give her brain a break and get some rest.

But she couldn't.

Even if she did agree to help them find Bucky, she didn't even know exactly where he was.

She had a basic idea, but what if he wasn't there? What if he had suspected that the girl he had supposedly put his trust in would rat him out.

Davina rested her head against the window, back towards the woodland view. She couldn't bring herself to look into the woods, too many memories would flood back into her at once, and Davina wasn't sure if she would be able to cope with them all at once.

She closed her eyes and let her imagination play restlessly with her thoughts until the girl drifted out of consciousness.

Her body slipped slowly to spread out across the cool tiles. Exhaustion overcame her weak  slumped form.

The last thoughts to enter her headspace was of Bucky, the ice blue eyes she had looked into as she begged him to run. The hesitation that had been displayed through his eyes before her disappeared into the trees, leaving Davina alone in the woods.
