Maybe it was the eventful night they had, perhaps it was the staying up late, or maybe just maybe they felt so safe, so secure in each other's arms that they had no care in the world; resulting in a wonderful restful sleep. I guess we’ll never know.
Korra opened her eyes slowly, taking in all of her surroundings. The first thing she spotted was a raven -haired woman sound asleep on her chest. She didn't mind it one bit. The blued eyed woman smiled to herself admiring the peacefulness radiating off of the sleeping woman. And after a few seconds of cherishing the raven haired woman’s existence, she checked her phone for the time.
It was 7:00 am; the time she would normally get up. It seemed a bit ironic since she slept late last night, yet slept better than any other day. She laid in bed for a couple of minutes until she decided it was time to get up for work.
She wanted to just get up but she realized that she didn't have the right to move; before she moved, she had to deal with the woman sleeping on her. Disturbing the other woman's peace would break her heart but she had to do it. Korra moved her hand under Asami’s dark hair and gently scratched the woman's scalp hoping she would gain consciousness. That worked, but not a lot. Korra keeped doing it for her own muse.
Korra used a sleeping Asami as an excuse for her to lay comfortably in her bed. But more and more minutes passed by. After 15 mins Korra started actually putting in more effort into waking Asami up. With the combination of head scratches and placing soft kisses on the pale woman’s forehead she was able to get some movement, but not any acknowledgement.
Asami was lying on her side, with her head laying on Korra's chest and her hand close in front of her. “Sami wake up.” Korra spoke softly. “Hmm?” The pale woman hummed in response. “Wake up, we’re gonna be late for work.” The sleeping woman released a deep sigh. Korra was very familiar with that sigh, cause she always hated people waking her up. “C’mon. We can't be late again.” Korra tried convincing. Asami let out a loud groan before shifting her whole body to be on top of Korra’s; like a penguin on its stomach. Korra chuckled at Asami's childish reaction and started to rub the woman's back to make her feel better. As for Asami getting back rubs encouraged her to go back to sleep. “Salami, wake up.” Korra bugged, but got nothing. “Tsunami, wake up.” Still nothing. “Pastrami, wake up.” And when you thought she would have reacted to that one, she didn't. “Wasabi, wake up.” There was a momentary pause. There was a sigh but; nope, nothing. “Origami, wake up.”
“Now that one was just disrespectful.” Asami finally spoke. Korra bursted out laughing. With that Asami rolled off Korra and got up. “That was enough to get you up?” Korra teased. “Shut up.” Asami retorted. “Will do Origami.” Korra provoked. “Thanks beefcake.” Asami finished with a wink. Korra scoffed, she never regretted anything more than mentioning that shit.
Once Korra was free to move, she sat up, put her sock on and headed for the door. She was almost there until a hand went to stop her. The blue eyed woman turned around to see what caused her to stop. She found a pair of green emerald eyes looking back at her with confusion and a hint of sadness. “Where are you going?” A soft voice asked. “I'm just going to go make some coffee for the both of us, or do you want tea?” Korra replied. The raven haired woman walked over and leaned on the tan woman’s shoulder just enjoying the blue eyed woman's voice. “I'm okay with coffee.” Asami replied in the same tired voice.
