Chapter 11 || A String of Hope

They were talking about how to get Dream back when the heard Phil's wings and then him landing,

They heard two sets of footsteps and Phil entered the room with Karl, who looked nervous and fidgety

Carly, Quackity, and Sapnap gasped, "Wait." Phil said, "He's has memory loss, it's not the best choice to bombard him with questions," Phil said,

"They look familiar.." Karl muttered and gestured to Sapnap, Quackity, Kelly and Carly

"..We are you fiancés... or were anyway.." Sapnap said quietly, Karl looked at his ring fingers, "Are there rings?" Karl asked, Quackity nodded and took them out, "We'll show you after the meeting.." Quackity said quietly,

In the evening they had finished came up with a plan, The Wither appeared weaker around loved one so they would somehow get The Wither to the prison and get Wilbur, and Dream's family to deal with it,

The only problem was locating Dream, though.

As everyone was about to leave Dan's eyes lit up, and took the Dream compass out, "Yes! I still have it!" Dan cheered,

"What do you have?" Techno asked, "The Dream compass!" Dan exclaimed, Wilbur's eyes lit up, "When's the soonest we can leave!" He asked,

"Uh, maybe when Ranboo gets better?" DreamXD suggests, "But that might be in months!" He exclaimed,

"No not even close, it's estimated in a day," DreamXD said sarcastically, "How in a day?" Wilbur asks, DreamXD and changed back to a god form, "Oh.." Wilbur said slightly embarrassed, DreamXD rolled his eyes and changed back to mortal form,

-With Dream-

(Dream's pov)

The Wither was sleeping, giving me control of my body, but he had blocked off all exits and taken away the tools,

I was exploring the mansion when I found a locked door, I looked for a key and eventually found it, I unlocked the door to see a child's room, it was fully furnished but I found it boring and left,

I eventually found a library and decided to read until he woke up. I miss Wilbur.. and XD and Ranboo..

-Back to the others- -the next day-

Wilbur woke up with fire in his eyes, he immediately got and got changed, and left the hotel he stayed at,

He decided to go to the medical house and see if Ranboo was up,

Sure enough, when he got there Ranboo was eating something and was just finishing it

"Hey Ranboo!" Wilbur greeted, Ranboo looked up and smiled, "Oh hey Wilbur!" He greeted back, "How are you?" Wilbur asked, "Oh I'm fine, XD healed me, it was just some bruises, cuts, and a broken bone," Ranboo said nonchalantly,

Wilbur was shocked, "Wow, The Wither is strong!" Wilbur exclaimed, Ranboo looked down sadly, "Yeah.. but I heard we're going to rescue Dream!" Ranboo said excitedly,

Wilbur grinned, "Yes we are! We should go meet XD!" Wilbur said and Ranboo nodded,

They got up and walked to the town hall where XD was leaning against the wall in mortal form, he looked deep in thought,

"Hey XD!" Ranboo yelled at him, XD shook his head and looked up, "Hey Ranboo! You ready to go? The others are waiting for us!" XD said,

Ranboo and Wilbur nodded and XD led them to Dan, Tommy, Tubbo, Phil, Techno, and Sam,

"Let's get going then!" Dan said, and they followed as he walked southwest, following the compass,

-With Dream-

Dream woke up with a splitting head ache, He started choking and coughed out black sand and smoke,

The Wither appeared in front of me, "W-what do you want?" He choked out,

"I noticed that you went to a closed off room," The Wither said menacingly, "You told me I could explore," Dream pointed out,

"Indeed, but that room was loc-" he sighed at the end of the sentence, "Follow me please," he muttered,

Dream was confused, but followed him anyway, The Wither led him to the child's room, "Why did you bring me here?" Dream asked, "Just want to tell you something.." The Wither said ominously,

The Wither led him into the room, it was kind of familiar, strange, "Do you recognize this room, Dream?" The Wither asked, this confused Dream even more,

"Um, kind of?" Dream said, "This was YOUR room as a kid Daydream," The Wither laughed, Dream was shocked, "How do you know that?" Dream asked suspiciously,

"You probably won't remember, but, you had three older brothers and one younger brother and sister, we had quite a big family," The Wither said, Dream stood frozen in shock, No- "Yes Daydream,"

The Wither suddenly changed forms into an near identical version of Dream, but he had a black cloak, a black tunic, blue jeans, and brown leather boots, he had blood red fingerless gloves and his mask was black with a red smiley face,

"Hello Daydream, I'm your cursed brother Nightmare."

Dream passed out from shock.

-back with the other people-

"We're almost there guys!" Dan exclaimed, he was walking with Sam. Wilbur, Techno, Tommy and Phil were talking about random things and XD and Ranboo were talking about Dream and The Wither,

About an hour later they reached the Woodland Mansion, XD drew in a sharp breath, this was not a good place to visit,

The entrance was blocked off by blocks, but Techno easily took care of that, they all explored the mansion but split up, XD, Ranboo, and Wilbur went together, Techno Phil and Techno were together, and Dan and Sam were walking together.

They trio walked around until they came across a kids bedroom, XD immediately recognized it and shifted his weight uncomfortably,

Wilbur slowly opened the door to see a knocked out Dream on the bed, he gasped happily and ran inside,

The others rushed inside too and saw Wilbur happily hugging the unconscious man,

Dream stirred awake, "Oh hey Wilbur.." he said tiredly and closed his eyes again only to open them again in surprise, "Wait- Wilbur?" He said surprised,

"Hi Dream," Wilbur said happily, suddenly black dust came out of the closet Wilbur hugged him tighter and XD pulled Ranboo away from the sand but Dream just stared at it,

Dream started choking and coughing as it went in the wound, and completely collapsed in Wilbur's arms, asleep.

"Well that was.. easy.." Ranboo said, Wilbur picked Dream up bridal style, "Yeah we should hurry back to the smp though," XD said,

They went back to the front entrance and called for the others, who came right away.

They started heading back to the smp, not realizing they were being followed.
