Yep, you heard it folks. WE HIT TEN THOUSAND READS!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
So since this is a Solangelo one shot book, it won't be completely Percy focused, but I thought I would put a little spin on things.
This has the Solangelo y'all crave, Percy for his birthday, and a back-to-school aspect since most schools have started already
Introducing a brand new character...
LUKE JACKSON!!!!
(you may know him if you read our legacy book, posted on CallMeOri 's account)
Alright, I'll start the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"First day of school! First day of school!" Bianca skipped up the driveway to the Jacksons' house, her two dads in tow.
"Damn, I wish I was still that excited to wake up early." Will muttered, holding Nico's hand in his and Michael on his other arm.
"Same. But you know our Bianca; she's just excited because she's in the same class as Luke." Nico raised his fist to knock on the door.
Knock knock.
Annabeth opened the door, holding a fussy toddler on her hip. "Hey guys! Come on in, we were just about to take some pictures."
Percy was on one knee on the floor, trying to put his oldest daughter's hair tie back in her hair. Luke was standing next to his father and sister.
"Luke!" Bianca giggled as she ran to her best friend.
"Bee! Hiya!" Luke smiled and hugged her.
Percy looked up from Charlotte's pigtails. "Oh, hey guys!"
"Hey, Perce. Happy birthday, man." Nico said, extending a hand to help Percy up. "How old are you now, 30?"
"Oh, shush, Nico. Excited for kindergarten yet?" Percy joked.
"Well, this is Bianca's first mortal school, but I think we'll be alright. Oh, thanks for having us over, by the way."
"It's nothing, really. We learned first hand with Charlie that it's better to see someone you know in school." Percy gestured to Luke and Bianca, who were busy showing off their new school outfits (that frankly weren't very comfortable for 5 year olds) and their super hero lunch boxes.
"Oh, they grow up too fast!" Will said, now holding both Michael and Roberta in his arms while Annabeth took the opportunity to finish cleaning up.
"Let's get a photo before we're late." Annabeth said, putting a clip in her hair to keep her blond curls out of her face.
"But school doesn't start for another thirty minutes." Nico said, trying to make sure that Bianca doesn't spill anything on her shirt.
"Here we go again." Percy muttered.
"Early is on time. On time is late." Annabeth took her daughter back from Will's temporary hold. She silently thanked him. "That's what my father always said. Claimed it was Athena wisdom."
"Honey, I don't know how your dad would react to you calling Chiron your father." Percy smiled.
"Close enough, right?" Annabeth tightened the sage-green bows tied into her oldest's curly black hair.
"Alright, let's snap some pics before all our hard work gets messed up. Everyone say cheese!" Will offered to take the Jackson family photo, and Percy took the one of the Di Solaces.
"Let's get going!"
~time skip~
"Daddy! Papá! Look what I made!" Bianca came running towards her fathers, macaroni necklaces held tightly in her fist.
"Wow, Bi. Very nice!" Will smiled as Bianca bestowed the flimsy string upon him.
"Such an artist!" Nico scooped Bianca up and kissed her on the cheek. "You're going to be famous one day, il mio calabrone!"
Bianca squealed. "I have something for you too, Papá, so you aren't left out. The other kids made only one for their dads and I made two!" She gave a second necklace of noodles to Nico, this one made of penne.
Nico smiled. "Thank you, Bianca."
Bianca straightened it around his neck. "They didn't have any more macaroni so I had to use something else."
Nico kissed her again. "I love it. Now I can tell which one is mine."
Bianca pointed to Luke, who was waving his hands around to talk to Percy and Annabeth. "I like that we're in the same class. It would've been scarier without him there."
"What do you mean?" Will asked.
"The teacher is nice, but she was a stranger at first. I'm happy that I had someone there to make it seem less strange."
"Ah, I understand. Best friends are so awesome to have, aren't they?" Nico smiled and looked over to Will.
"Yeah!" Bianca smiled.
"Yes, they truly are wonderful." Will looked at Nico, his husband and best friend.
They were happy.
