this one will be a bit longer because it includes planning, pre-ceremony, and the after party—I mean wedding reception

but this is so fun to write

Wedding parties: Will has Lou Ellen, Cecil, Kayla, and Austin as his groomsmen/women. Nico has Reyna, Hazel, Percy and Annabeth

"What about a wedding on the beach?" Will asked as he sat in bed, wandering around the internet to look for ideas. "The website is very dyslexia-friendly. Big captions and no hidden links anywhere...pretty photos, too."

"A beach venue? For us?" Nico asked from their bathroom, doing his nightly routine and washing his face. "It sounds lovely, but it's not really our thing, you know?"

"Right. We can't copy Percy and Annabeth." Will clicked his tongue and continued his search. His fingers tapped and clacked on the keys as he typed. "We need to figure out a theme."

"Wedding."

"That's not a theme."

"It is too a theme! The whole point of a wedding is to get married!"

"Color scheme?" Will squinted at the screen.

A moment of silence was the first reply from Nico.

"Black is not an option."

"I wasn't going to say black, William. I know how weddings work." Nico walked out of the bathroom and climbed onto his side of the bed.

Will looked away from the computer and at his fiancé. "Can't we just get eloped?"

"Like run away to get married?"

"Yeah. We don't have to plan a ceremony and I get you all to myself. I think it's a good plan. Let's go to Vegas!"

"But when we plan it, we get to look at florists," Nico kissed Will on the cheek, "and catering," he kissed him again, "and look at all of the fun wedding things together."

"We already have a song..." Will tipped his head so his cheek was closer to Nico, silently asking him for another kiss.

"See? We already have one thing covered."

"But everything takes forever and I just want to marry you already!" Will stuck his bottom lip out to dramatically pout.

"Ah, but the thing is, my love," Nico peppered kisses along the side of Will's face, "we have the rest of our lives together. We won't be missing a single moment."

"You're always so good at words." Will said, closing the laptop and placing it on the nightstand. "How do you do that?"

"I just love you a lot."

"I love you a lot, too, but I can't say things like that. I'm no good at that kind of stuff."

"Ok, but you kill all of the spiders in the shower and open the pickle jar. It's a fair trade."

Will smiled. "We're going to get married."

Nico smiled back and turned the lights off. "We're going to get married."

*time skip, multiple months later*

"Oh my gods. I'm going to get married!" Will paced around, barefoot, in the room he was supposed to be getting ready in. "In less than an hour!"

"News flash! You still don't have shoes on." Kayla sat at a table, slowly spinning the spoon around her cup of cold coffee. "I can't be a grooms-maid if the groom refuses to put his damn shoes on!"
