"Hurry! We're going to be late for our flight!" Will held a duffel bag under one arm and his daughter on the other.

"Honey, we don't need to go to the airport three hours before our flight." Nico laughed, but then glanced at the clock in the kitchen. An hour later than usual. "Shit. I'll go grab Michael and get dressed."

"Thank you!"

Nico hurried into his son's room, gently picking him up and resting him on his chest. "Please, please sleep on the flight."

Michael remained asleep, peacefully sucking his thumb.

"Good. Glad we agree."

After a very rushed fifteen minutes, all members of the Di Solace household were finally piled into Will's truck.

"Babe, do we have everything?" Will glanced over at his husband. "Driver's licenses, plane tickets, suitcases, Bianca and Michael?" He checked the back seat, where, thankfully, both kids were sleeping in their car seats.

"Licences are both in my wallet, you downloaded the tickets digitally so they're on your phone, suitcases are in the trunk. and the children are in the back. I locked the door and set the house alarm, and brewed us each a cup of coffee." Nico smiled.

"I love you."

"That's why you married me." Nico squeezed Will's hand to help relieve some nerve. "Mental checklist, go."

"Ok, carry on backpacks for each of us plus one combined for the kids."

"Check." Nico pointed to his feet, where his backpack was. "The other two are on the floor of the backseat."

"Christmas presents for my mom?"

"In your suitcase, check."

"Offering to Zeus so you can safely go in the air?"

Nico sighed and held up half of a donut wrapped in a paper towel. "Done. Check."

"Money for the dog-sitter on the counter?"

"We don't have a dog."

"Just making sure. Portable carseats?"

"Your mom said she had two ready in Texas, so not needed."

Will thought for a second. "I think we have everything else packed... ok, let's get going!" He put the gears into reverse and backed up down the icy driveway.

Will concentrated for a few minutes to try not to crash, until Nico spoke up when he thought the road was safe.

"So, are you excited?"

"Of course I am." Will winced. "But I haven't seen her since Easter so she's going to smack me upside the head and give me the 'William Andrew! How come you haven't visited your own ma in months?! Boy, I raised you all on my lonesome, you might as well show some love to your mother' speech."

Will glanced to Nico, who was trying not to choke on his coffee. "What?"

"Nothing, your accent just tripled when you mimicked your mom. You sound just like her!"

Will pinched his thumb onto his three fingers and flicked his wrist.

"Did you just do the Italian hand?"

Will flicked his wrist again.

"It's not nice to make fun of your spouse."

Will flicked it again. "Mama mia! Spaghetti!"
