Chapter 18

*Ameerah POV *

When lunch came around of course I sat with the same people. Jabari and his friends. Keon sat beside me again. I liked the comfort he provided me when he was near.

You know that feeling you get when you can feel somebody staring at you? I was getting that feeling now. I looked around the cafeteria and I spotted that new boy and the two girls in a heated conversation, they was pointing at my table. I wasn't sure they was talking about me or Keon though. Last time I checked they was new and I don't think they knew him.

I didn't want them to know I was looking so I looked away just as Keon was saying something to me.

"What did you say" I asked so he could repeat himself.

"I said do you wanna go out tonight " he smiled. He had a nice smile. No scratch that a sexy smile. I already knew I was catching feelings for this boy because I had never thought things of this nature before. I don't even think I've ever had a crush before.

I think I'm finally realizing how pathetic my life sounds.

"Sure that sounds nice, I guess" I whispered. I didn't know how to feel at this moment. I didn't know whether to call this a date or Not . But

I really wasn't paying attention to what he was saying I think I was more intrigued on why the new people were pointing at us.

As the day continued I kept seeing that girl in my cousins face and everytime I appeared she seemed to get touchy feely. I think she was trying to make me jealous but little did she know we were just cousins.

I was in 7th period and I raised my hand to use the bathroom. This was the first time I had to actually use the bathroom in school. I tried to avoid using it because I had a pet peeve of dirty bathrooms.

Of course the teacher said I could go and I rushed towards the door to go pee. I walked slowly towards the restroom because I was in no hurry to get back to class. I was already done with my work anyway.

As I was walking in I over heard some girls talking.

"Yeh I think his name is jabari " girl one said. I raised my eyebrows at this because of course that was fam.

"Jay I don't think we should be doing this, we can find him another way" girl 2 said.

That meant girl 1's name was Jay. I don't give a shit what her name was I just wanted to know what she wanted from my cousin.

"Drea shutup don't punk out now. We done made it this far so we can keep going" the girl who's name was Jay said.

"I'm not punking out. These are peoples lives we are messing with and I just think their is a safer way to handle this shit than by playing with people's emotions " after the girl Drea said that I heard footsteps and ran to hide behind a wall.

After I saw her walk by I released the breath I was holding and walked from behind the wall I was hiding at. As soon as I thought I was in the clear I bumped into that girl Jay.
