Matthew 11:28 - "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

What a wonderful promise we have been given here by Jesus. After all, who among us at times hasn't felt heavy-laden? And Jesus here is telling us that, yes, He knows what we are going through and, yes, He can help us– that is, if we let Him.

Have you ever felt that the burdens you are carrying are just too heavy? Have you ever asked yourself, "Where can I find peace?" I'll tell you. You can find Perfect Peace in Christ Jesus.

Let's look at the life of Jesus. He carried the weight of this world upon His shoulders yet He lived in an atmosphere of DIVINE PEACE. He was not stressed out with the challenges He faces. That is because he understands that He cannot carry the burdens alone and surrenders all to His Heavenly Father. God gave him that DIVINE PEACE. So, In whom can we find peace? Christ Jesus! We can find peace in HIM. REST IN CHRIST.

He can do so because "all things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father" (Matt 11:27, NKJV)

Jesus'ability to give rest is based on His divinity and His oneness with the Father. Before we can come to unload our burdens, we need to understand that we cannot carry them alone. We need to surrender all to Christ. That's why Jesus makes this invitation – "Come to me......". It is a command; an imperative. If you want peace, Come to Me.

"Come" is not optional, "Come" represents the precondition of finding rest. "Come" means  that we need to surrender control to Him. Surrender is the toughest part of Christian Life. Conquer this part by surrendering your life and everything relating to you to God. Then, you can find that Perfect Peace. Jesus tells us to come to him and he will give us rest. When your work is tough, when you complain of difficulties and trails, when you say that you have no strength to withstand temptation, come to Jesus, your Saviour and Friend. We must not trust at all to ourselves or to our good works but when as erring, sinful being we come to Christ, we may find rest in His Love. Christ is the light and he will brighten your path. Amen.
