What's the Church's Greatest need? Ellen G. White says in chapter one of True Revival that, "There are persons in the church who are not converted, and who
will not unite in earnest, prevailing prayer. We must enter upon the work individually. We must pray more, and talk less".
"But it is our work, by confession, humiliation, repentance, and earnest prayer, to fulfill the conditions
upon which God has promised to grant us His blessing. A revival
need be expected only in answer to prayer".
What is Revival? Revival signifies a renewal of spiritual life, a quickening of the powers of mind and heart, a resurrection from spiritual death. The Day of Atonement is near. And there should be a call for Revival to the church, especially our individual lives. The day of Atonement is coming because...."Each of us has a case pending in the court of
heaven. We are individually to be judged according to the deeds
done in the body. In the typical service".
We are to be “not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord”
(Romans 12:11). We
shall be distrustful of ourselves, having an abiding sense that our
sufficiency is of God.
God calls for a spiritual
revival and a spiritual reformation. A revival and a reformation must take place, under the ministration of the Holy Spirit.
If we have any
regard for our souls’ salvation, we must make a decided change. The devil doesn't want to see the church fulfil God's will. He sets adversary and rejoices when he sees the people of God not daily asking for the Holy Spirit. He is pleased when we do not make effort to share God's Words to others. He knows a divided home can't stand and so he seek to inflict conflict into the church.
Therefore, "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their
sins” (Isaiah 58:1). The attention of the people must be gained. We must be on a mission for Christ and we can't show Christ if He isn't with us and that's why this revival is important. We need to wake up and grow spiritually, seeking God and His Will everyday.
