Let Go

As we go through life, we get attached

People, places, things hold our mind hostage

While we hold these things dear, we must detach

Before these thoughts become toxic

As we remember the thoughts we hold so dear

We hide our feelings behind clear eyes

While they fill us with sadness, shedding our tears

We repeat this cycle, leaving each time no more wise

You tell yourself it's bad, you must get out

But these thoughts have consumed you, clouding your sight

You are soon filled with doubt that you won't get out

But listen to me, you are still in the fight

The time is near and you should know

That it is time to let go
