When things go wrong, you tell me you're sorry
I simply respond, "It's alright."
You carefully craft your response with chary
While I tell you there is no need to fright
You feel as though you've done me no good
And I simply tell you "It's alright."
You've done more than I ever could
Which fills me with such delight
You question why I say this
To you, it shouldn't be said at all
While to me it would bring me such bliss
To know you stand tall
So the next time I tell you it's alright
Please do not fight what's right
