Did you just take the easy way out?
The way that required no spoken words
You wanted to avoid confrontation, avoid the shouts
But the easy way out is a double edged sword
Did you want to leave me as my love increases?
You set off the flames, you lit the match
I fell to the floor, picking up the pieces
As you ran away, leaving without a scratch
Do you know that you didn't kill me?
Your absence of words stabbed my heart
You surrounded me with darkness, but I could still see
That you were the one who fell apart
Filled with fear, you took the easy way out
As I walked away happy, without a doubt
