Pain

I walk before you with a normal pace

My eyes concealing what I feel

You could never tell by my face

That the pain I feel is real

I hear your words, hateful in spirit

They trigger the thoughts I fear

And they make it hard to forget

That I have lost someone so dear

If only you could see it, you'd understand

That this feeling isn't for a mere man

Stumbling through it all, I withstand

But my resistance gives way, with happiness becoming a distant plan

You'd change your words if I could just explain

Why my head is filled with so much pain
