Although we try to hide from it
It always seems to find our ears
You hear them, and want to forget
But they stay there over the years
It changes people, for better or worse
It brings out who you really are
They break you and change your course
And you always wonder how many you've heard so far
I've heard plenty throughout my days
My mind absorbing them like a sponge
I want them to go away, but I know they are here to stay
With no hope to expunge
No matter what I hear, no matter what you do
My favorite lie is "I love you"
