The Fate of Apollo

Leo's Confession!

NICO:

As soon as we entered the school on Friday morning, Jacqueline came hopping to Leo and said, "Can we do the assignment today at Blue Sky Café?" Leo smiled at her and nodded. I couldn't ignore the pang of jealousy that hit my heart but I kept myself ignorant. "Ok, see you after school," she waved and disappeared in the crowd of children.

We separated and after the 4 tiring classes, lunch appeared. We were halfway through our meal having a casual conversation when the bitch, I mean Jacqueline, came over to our table and whispered something in Leo's ears and left after giving him a kiss on his cheek. Leo had a shit eating grin on his face since then and it annoyed the hell out of me. It was too much for my fragile heart to take.

Percy and Apollo seemed to have fallen out as the situation between them is too awkward. But i believe that they will get over with it.

After school was over, I and Percy were waiting for Leo outside the school gates when Leo and Jacqueline arrived. My eyes scanned them when I noticed that they were holding hands. It came to me like a slap on my face. How did I ever hope that Leo would ever like me! He was as straight as a pole for fuck's sake! I blinked back the tears that had unconsciously appeared in the corners of my eyes.

We arrived at the café and Percy went on with his shift. I, Leo and Jacqueline sat at the table at the corner. I took out my homework and was lazily staring at it while my mind wandered on various thoughts. Leo asked Jacqueline, "Would you like to have some coffee?" "Yep, an expresso would be nice enough," came the reply.

Leo got her a cup of expresso and they continued with their assignment work for another half an hour. Suddenly the girl cleared her throat. Both I and Leo looked up at her. She extended her hand across the table and took Leo's hand in hers. She stood up and declared, "Leo, I like you. I have been liking you since a month now. Will you go on a date with me?" Suddenly something inside me snapped.

I ran out of the café. I heard Leo calling me but I paid no heed. He deserves a nerdy girl like Jacqueline. A scrawny, pale boy like me is way out of his league. I don't deserve him at all. My feet carried me to the Battery Park. I sat on the nearest bench and cried my heart out. I went into a slumber, exhausted by stress and heartache. My slumber was interrupted by some sobbing sounds. I sat up straight on the bench and checked the time. It was freaking 9:30 p.m.!

I stood up and looked around. The sobs continued. Following the sobs, I found Leo sitting on the farthest bench beside the Hudson.

He looked so depressed that it broke my heart.

I went up to him and softly called out to him. He looked up and his eyes landed upon me. From the twinkling in his eyes, it seemed that he had found the most precious treasure in the Universe.

He stood up and engulfed me in a hug. He sobbed, "I thought something bad happened to you. I and Percy have searched the whole of South Manhattan. We couldn't find you anywhere. I was so so scared. I love you too much to be able to live without you Nico." I freezed at the mention of the 'L' word. I pulled out of the hug and croaked, "You l-love me?"

Leo sniffled.  He wiped his eyes and said, "Yes not only as a brother but also as a lover. I have always done. I just couldn't come out of the closet for the fear of the homophobes. But today I realised I need to man up, Nico. I love you a lot and much more than you could ever imagine. Will you do the honour of being my boyfriend?"

I couldn't believe my own ears. It seemed like I was dreaming but it was the reality. I nodded hard and said, "I too love you and yes, I will be your boyfriend."

We both leant and our lips met. As soon as our lips met, I felt like I was in heaven, butterflies erupted in my stomach and jolt of electricity travelled to the whole of my body from my lips. Leo's lips fitted against mine perfectly, as if they were made only for mine. The kiss was full of love, feelings and passion - soft and serene. No tongues or humping or sexual desires were mixed in it. It was just pure love and we were drowned in the ecstacy.

We broke the kiss after hearing someone clearing their throat. We looked up to see Percy smirking. I blushed furiously. Percy said, "I knew that you guys were not just brothers. So, you're boyfriends now?" Leo grinned cheekily and nodded. Percy smiled and continued, "Don't make your relationship official. It's better for you to stay in the closet for now." He engulfed us in a hug and we were about to head home when Percy's phone rang.

He received the call. After a moment of silence, his face was drained of all its colour.......
