AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Ok my dear readers, I felt like it was necessary to post how Apollo healed Percy because I personally feel that it will help you guys understand his feelings for the demigod.
APOLLO:
I sent Will and Nico away from the infirmary. The process I was going to use to heal Percy only works if the healer is in love with the patient. I never wanted anyone to know that I love Percy because of the stupid curse of Aphrodite that I will lose my lovers whenever I make a mistake while being in the relationship, the same curse due to which I lost Hyacinthus. No one ever knows other than Zephyrs what Hyacinthus looked like. He had the same dark hair, tanned skin and sea-green eyes. It's almost like Percy is the reincarnation of my dead lover who got killed by the Frisbee thrown by me. A lone tear slid down from my eyes across my cheek. I took a mortar and pestle and put the enchanted nectar and the sacred laurel leaf. Then it was time to add the most important ingredient, my ichor. I took a knife, the same one Will had shown me that Percy had used to cut himself and forced it to my wrist. Ichor gushed out. After I felt that the amount was sufficient, I grinded the mixture and filtered it. I poured it down in Percy's mouth.
I started to feeling lightheaded but I knew I could not stop. I placed a hand on Percy's forehead and started chanting the healing verses while sending surges of my powers through his own body and drawing it back, thus coursing my powers through his body and back. I didn't care when I felt like I was near the point of no return considering my powers. I didn't care that I may lose my immortality. Everything which mattered to me at that moment was Percy. I was ready to sacrifice everything to keep him safe and sound. Suddenly, I got my worst headache of the millennia and let out a groan. Black dots danced in my vision ensuring me that I had overexerted myself. My knees wobbled and gave way, landing me on the floor. Just then my kid, Will entered with his friend, Nico, worry evident over their features. I managed to mumble, "Give me some ambrosia and nectar quick." They handed me the divine food and after munching some ambrosia and gulping down a mouthful of nectar, I regained some of my lost strength and my headache subsided. I could still feel that the poison remained in Percy's body and I had to cure him. I managed to drive Will and Nico away for the second time and they were leaving when Uncle P arrived in a flash of sea vapours. The boys bowed to him but he paid no attention and asked me, "Need some help, nephew?" I replied with a grin, "Yep. A little help would be appreciated, Uncle Don." He closed the infirmary door with a wave of his hand.
He was about to tell something, when I interrupted him saying, "Can you force the poison out of his body?" He grimly nodded and asked, "Show the cut." I removed the bandage from one of the cuts on his torso and as I had expected, it had not healed. It was still as new so I knew that there was improvement as the infection had been removed. Uncle P concentrated and snapped his fingers. A green liquid mixed with blood began to flow out of the wound and form a big sphere above Percy. I continued to course surges of my energy through his body till Uncle Don finished drawing out the poison. As soon as he finished, I wrapped Percy's wound with a new bandage. The Lord of the Seas asked me, "Apollo, did you use the sacred technique to heal Percy?" I froze. No one was supposed to know that for the sake of Percy's safety. I knew that being the God of Truth, I could not lie. "Yes, my lord. No other medicine would work as his condition was too critical." My head hung low and my eyes were focused on the ground. He said softly, "Do you love my son?" I felt my face heating up and was pretty sure that I looked like a tomato. But ensuring Percy's safety was more important. I could not let Percy know that I love him or he will be in danger. I was fine with hurting myself if I knew Percy was safe and secure. I knelt and blabbered, "Please uncle, punish me in any way you like. I know it's not right to love my cousin but I couldn't help it. I just couldn't ignore my feelings. I'll do anything uncle but please don't let anyone know this secret of mine..." Tears started to trickle down my face and I hid my face in my hands. I would have spoken more when he chuckled softly, "I won't tell anyone. I can see you are sincere to him, Apollo but I think you have overexerted yourself too much. Now get up and treat that hand of yours. You look like a baby when you cry. Tears don't suit you my boy. I can feel your ichor dilating." I had completely forgotten about my hand. I suddenly realised that Will and Nico will be worried sick about Percy. Quietly rising, I opened the door and they got inside. Lord Poseidon told Will to wrap up the cut on my hand. Nico went straight to sit down beside Percy on the same chair, I was sitting a while ago. Will took me to another bed and I sat on it. I stole a glance at Percy and saw that his complexion was returning. Thus meant that the medication had worked and l visibly relaxed. It felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. But then I heard Percy mumble, "Annabeth!" My heart sunk to my stomach. Pain coursed through me again but this time it was emotional. My son was bandaging my hand when I suddenly felt all of my strength draining out of me. My vision became blurry with black dots. A sudden pain erupted through my body. I had no strength left to fight this sudden pain and I let unconsciousness take over. The last thing I heard before blacking out was Will's cry of 'Dad!'.
