Chapter Twelve

Amber slowly woke up the next morning. She lifted her eyelids and took in all the light which flooded the guest bedroom.

She had went to bed without Luna even in the house. She had not known what the hell happened to her, and she was worried. She had ignored all Amber's calls before she completely shut off her phone. Amber felt confused, hurt, and furious. Why would Luna leave her like that and not even come back? Amber had sat around all evening wondering if Alice and her had gotten into some major fight. Once midnight rolled around, Amber had given up on Luna and had gone on to bed.

She figured Luna had come back while she was sleeping. But what if she had not? What if she got in major trouble with Alice?

Amber grunted and slid out of bed like a sloth. She was eager to check Luna's room. If she wasn't there, Amber would flip her shit.

She turned to check the time on the clock nearby and literally screamed as she saw a female in the bed.

She gripped herself in pure fright and stared at the body as the woman's weight shifted. Amber watched in horror as the mysterious woman turned over and lifted her head to look at Amber.

Shit! It was only Luna.

"God!" Amber shouted as she clutched at her heart. "You practically just gave me a stroke."

Amber wondered when Luna had came back. How had she not woken Amber when she snuck in the room?

"I'm sorry..." Luna muttered as she was still waking up.

Amber sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. She was upset with Luna for ignoring her and not responding to any of her calls.

"What the hell happened last night?"

Luna rubbed at her tired eyes and sat up in the bed. "I went somewhere after I spoke with Alice."

Amber was shocked. She was interested in where Luna would need to go after Alice's house, but that question could wait. "What happened with her?"

"She told me exactly what she told you."

Amber frowned. "So nothing was taken out of it?"

Luna chuckled. "I slapped the crap out of her, so that felt nice."

Amber would have laughed herself if Luna wasn't acting so odd. She wasn't really telling Amber what had happened. Amber wondered if she was getting all the truth here. Luna had been so angry when she left.

"So what all did she say?" Amber pressed.

"She just said she's not looking to forgive you anytime soon."

"And...?"

Luna looked at Amber with sharp eyes. "And what?"

"What else, babe? That wasn't all that happened." Luna was being difficult and it was beginning to annoy Amber.

"I already told you! That is all. Really."

Maybe Luna would tell her later. Amber knew she would eventually get it out of her. There was a possibility she just wasn't ready to talk about it for whatever reason.

"You sure?" Amber urged despite her subconscious that was suggesting she left the matter alone.

"Yes!" Luna snapped in an irritated tone.
