I know I updated recently but I seriously wanted to get through this chapter today. Also I'm working and my next day off isn't until Thursday. I really wanted to update today
"Dude. Ow. What the hell? Can you stop?"
Josiah was currently taking Khalifa to one side, so as to talk to him about why he was still with Stefani.
As far as he was concerned, he had thought that Khalifa had broken up with her as soon as he had found out that she was an ex criminal.
Clearly not though, by the looks of things.
Even though the induction had started, Josiah and his friends didn't care. They were somehow more worried about Khalifa than they were missing the induction.
Plus it was available on other days, maybe even online. They just went in person so as to see what the school had looked like before they had actually gone there.
When the two of them were in private, Josiah wasn't happy. He wasn't happy on the way here but looking at Khalifa face to face just reinforced this.
"Why am I here?"
"Khalifa, what is wrong with you?" Josiah had whispered to him. "I thought you said that you broke up with Stefani as soon as you found out she was an ex criminal."
That was a lie apparently.
Khalifa had never said that to anyone.
So Josiah had rephrased himself.
He had thought that Khalifa had broken up with Stefani as soon as he was frustrated with other people telling him to do so.
"You even did a public break up at school," Josiah had reminded him. "Unless that was fake?"
Khalifa wasn't pleased with that, shooting Josiah a dirty look in the darkness.
"Why would I stage a fake break up? What kind of person do you take me for? Besides, me breaking up with Stefani wasn't even meant to be public. It was private and it became public because some people just couldn't mind their own business."
"From the way you've been acting today, one would think that it was fake."
Josiah had even remembered how the break up went. It was lunchtime at school about a month ago with Khalifa and Stefani talking in private.
There was a gazebo somewhere and Khalifa was fed up with the amount of people telling him to break up with her.
That wasn't why he wanted to do so though - his family members had found out that he was still with her.
Long story short, he got in a lot of trouble for that.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Stefani wanted to know when the two of them were alone together.
Khalifa sighed, this wasn't going to be easy for it and had he paused so much, one would have thought that everything he had said was scripted and he was trying to memorise lines from a script.
But it wasn't. He had said everything from his heart. He just didn't know how to do so without making it sound like he had cared what other people had thought.
Khalifa had just stared at her but no words had actually come out of his mouth.
He must have been staring for a pretty long time though because the next thing Stefani knew, Khalifa wouldn't take his eyes away from her.
