⬆️Regina King as Lilibet
Watching Savannah get shouted at by her mother Lilibet just now had hit deep.
It had also made Khalifa and Josiah feel even worse than before, as they should have been.
"Great, are you two happy?" Reminisce had asked both of them sternly, when Savannah had been bailed out by Lilibet. "Poor Savannah is in trouble now for something that she didn't even do in the first place, no thanks to you."
The fact that it had been a long time since they had been arrested at the museum without being bailed out spoke volumes.
What was their Grandma Vernecia going to say to them when she had found out about this?
"You two need to make up with each other," Kaiden had added, with Josiah and Khalifa making excuses as to why they couldn't do that. "Look, arguing got us here. So making up will get us out of here, don't you think?"
I'm not speaking to him, he caused it.
Yes, because you called me an ignorant imbecile. And you even had the audacity to say it again when I said that. A smart person would have just kept their mouth shut.
Yeah, but you didn't have to fight me.
They didn't argue, that was all they had said because Kaiden had interrupted their conversation again.
"No offence, Khalifa - and I mean this in the nicest way possible but you kind of are being an ignorant imbecile right now," Kaiden had interrupted, with Reminisce agreeing. "Why can't you just see that Stefani isn't good for you?"
Because she was good for him.
A lot of people had judged her wrongly based on the fact that she was an ex criminal.
She may have been that, but her grades had improved significantly. She had used to be bottom set everything, now she was almost top.
Khalifa wasn't very surprised though.
That was unfortunately the society that they had lived in. As in, judging people without getting to know them.
"Guys, she's really not that bad. Y'all need to stop looking at the exterior and look at the interior. You're acting like she doesn't have a heart or something but she does."
"We're just worried about you," Reminisce had deadpanned. "Especially me, I'm your sister. You really don't know what's going on behind the scenes. She could be committing crimes unnoticed."
Khalifa had just pointed out that she hadn't done so in nine months, behind the scenes or not.
It had genuinely seemed as though they weren't taking no for an answer though, with Khalifa sighing, wondering how he was going to get his way and theirs at the same time.
Josiah had an idea.
Since he really wanted to stay with her, he could have done so, although as soon as he had sensed danger, he had come running back ASAP.
"You understand?"
He nodded.
"I guess that's fair."
"But then how will we know you're in danger without telling us?" Kaiden wanted to know, with Khalifa promising that he would have told them when he was and he meant it.
Then he had apologised to Josiah for landing them into this situation, with Josiah apologising too for insulting him.
Even if it was secretly true.
