⬆️Asia Monet Ray as Topaz
Sorry for the wait again. I love this book I really do but lately I've just been busy.
I've finished working for the year so hopefully I can update this book more for y'all.
"So let me get this straight," Savannah's younger cousin by a year called Topaz had said to her through the phone.
"As part of your punishment for almost getting arrested the other day, you can only call someone once weekly on your phone, for a maximum of ten minutes?"
Savannah was doing chores outside of her house whilst Tatiana was making her way over there instead.
She had just finished talking to Kaiden and Reminisce about something. Kaiden wanted Savannah back on the team because they had a lot in common with each other the most.
Savannah wasn't allowed to speak to them after they had almost gotten her arrested for real.
Thankfully they weren't kicked out of the creative arts school when Josiah and Khalifa had fought, they were only given a warning but that was it.
Lucky them, sort of.
They had all still gotten grounded, and they weren't even allowed to leave each other's houses to begin with, but their guardians weren't at home.
She wasn't allowed to speak to them but she was allowed to speak to Tatiana.
After some heavy negotiation, it was then decided that Tatiana was going to talk to Savannah for Kaiden and Reminisce.
"Yeah, Topaz," Savannah had replied, sighing. Lilibet wanted her to rake the leaves outside and put them in a black bin bag which she was going to put in the bin later on.
"I don't understand why you're grounded though, I thought your mum said that she's chill with you about you almost getting arrested."
She wasn't at first, and Savannah couldn't exactly blame her for it, although they did make up with each other at the end of the day.
"She is, but I left her shop without telling her."
She was talking about just before she had met Reminisce, Kaiden and Khalifa at Josiah's house. Josiah had texted her to come to his house for an emergency meeting.
She had to help her mum at a salon, hence why she didn't really want to come.
She didn't even want to help Lilibet but her mother had forced her to do so, especially how she wasn't really doing anything in the first place anyway.
"I get that but you didn't even want to go."
"I know but it's still wrong," Savannah had deadpanned, sweeping the leaves still with the rake. "Plus apparently she had received a lot of complaints. And that's the thing, she has a lot of staff members working there. Me leaving somehow took a toll on her business. She had earned less money at the end of her shift because of this."
They had then talked for a while, with the conversation stopping when Savannah had heard Tatiana calling their name.
Tatiana was so loud that people had stopped to stare at her anytime she had talked. She may have been slightly jarring at times but that girl was very confident.
Topaz, I'll call you back.
It's almost been ten minutes anyway, she had said at the other end of the phone. I don't want you getting in trouble. I'll holla at you later. Bye.
