4 years ago:

"AND THE WINNER.... THE MAGICAL MISTRESS HERSELF.... THE MIDNIGHT SORCERESS!!!" The announcer called out the name that the thieves and thugs had given me. They called me the midnight sorceress because of my midnight black cloak and telekinetic abilities. It stuck with me after years of fighting... and killing. I had become the most feared assassin in Japan, and I was 14 years old.

This wasn't the life I wanted, it's just how it played out. I was the daughter of wanted villains so I had to remain hidden until my parents came back for me. I kept this mindset for many years before I realized I wouldn't survive without making a living. So I learned the rules of the streets and started joining street fights. I lost many times. I won many times.

Everyday was a new opponent... a new challenge. Until one day I came across an opponent who refused to go down. He was tall and rather handsome, but the most noticeable feature about this guy was his huge, crimson wings. They towered over him and were powerful enough to stop... anything. We fought until finally, he knocked me out cold. That was the last fight I could remember losing. Actually that was the last fight I remember, at all. I woke up in an old alley way, the winged man was knelt down next to me, tying up my wrist.

"What- what the hell are you doing?!?" I yelled to the young man. He looked me in my (e/c) eyes and put a hand on my shoulder. "Relax kid! I'm here to help you. You're L/n Y/n, aren't you?" I widened my eyes. "I'll take that as a yes. Look I'm not going to hurt you. I have some people that would like to meet you. I'm Takami Keigo... nice to meet you." He helps me up and I try my hardest to fight him but honestly I wanted to stop. He was the first person that was actually being nice to me? I was a street rat and usually got trash thrown at me, but he was different.

Takami brought me to an organization where they wanted to use my abilities. They called themselves 'the commission' but that made no sense to me, why would an organization trying to stop bad people, look for me. He brought me to this older woman who looked me up and down before speaking. "Ohhhh hello there. We have for a lot of good news for you." She tells me and I clenched my eyebrows to her. I look up at Takami and he nods. I could really trust this guy. I feel it.

The woman went on for hours about what I would be doing for her and the organization. Ridding the world of bad people without all the labels and shit. Blah blah blah.

Needless to say... I wasn't interested. This would help me keep money in my pocket without fighting illegally but I promised my father I would lay low. Which to me, meant staying on the run down streets.

I look at the woman with a frown.

"And if I refuse..." is what I said simply. She grins to me and unties the ropes around my wrists. "You're not understanding, you don't have a choice here sweetie." She said back to me as I rub the raw skin on my wrist. "You'll fit in great here!" Takami says and pulls me into a hug. Great this guy is fucking great.

So for several months I trained with Takami, who was actually pro hero, 'Hawks' but he also worked for the commission. Super weird I know. We created a strong bond, until I told him I was leaving. Moving away to the west, to start school to get a hero's license. I figured if anyone could find out what happened to two kidnapped adults, it would be a pro hero. So I made it my mission to become one, I needed to find out what happened to them.

I left Takami behind, not knowing when I'd ever see him again. I needed to look out for myself though. I learned how to survive on my own after that. Faked my way into Shiketsu Highs entrance exam, got in, and started a new life.

Those two and a half years there taught me... that I was wrong all along. Killing was wrong, fighting to hurt people was wrong, so I changed my ways and became a hero.
