1st POV: Kai's
In the morning, she laid next to me like an angel being reborn in the heavens. Her long eyelashes, small button nose, and soft pink plump lips were some of the things that I loved and adored, but it was within her, that made her beauty glow. Her bright love rays shot through me and shined light in my darkest parts. There was no one like her in this planet. How could that be possible? It simply wasn't.
We had stayed over at my parent’s home and fell asleep in my room. By her being here, compared to the last time she was here, showed me how much things changed over time. I was trying to convince her why she should marry me, but now she was married to me. She was all mines. Nothing could separate us. You’re my one and only Queen, the ruler of my heart Mayuko.
Please, let it always be like that.
I leaned in and pecked her lips gently as possible not to interrupt her sleep, because she was in a deep splendid slumber. From all the events that occurred yesterday, she had to be exhausted. Like how it was at Chae-Young's house, my mother maids were watching over Kai.Jr. I got up to get dressed and I saw my phone blinking which meant I had a message.
I clicked on the message and some of my breath was stolen.
From: Seohyun
I accept your marriage, but I want to talk to you before we part. You can give me that much at least, right?"
This was not expected, but then again it was. I wanted to talk to you Seohyun. I replied.
To: Seohyun
Yes, I can. Where are you?
From: Seohyun
I'm at the place where memories are left with tears.
There was no point in replying, because this was a riddle. Back in the past, Seohyun was fond of riddles and I would figure them out. There was only one place where I left memories with tears. It was with someone precious to me.
I looked back at Mayuko and leaned down giving her another kiss on her soft lips like sleeping beauty.
"I'll be back."
Little did I know that I couldn't keep those words.
Please forgive me Mayuko.
Shutting the car door, I arrived at the Han River. This was the place where memories are left with tears. The ones I left with Mayuko. How did Seohyun know about this place?
1st POV: Seohyun's
The wind blew through my hair, making my soul more icy cold and my heart lonelier. What was left of me now that Kai was gone? Success? That use to be my first priority, but after I lost that goal when everything was stripped away from me by his father, I could only remember those sweet lips and warm hands that held me. Those lips promised he would love only me forever and those hands vowed to only hold me.
I knew love could bend, but break? I didn't know it could suddenly disappear and be stolen away from you. Was this because of my own faults?
As my nose breathed in the divine fresh air of the river, I remembered what Sehun told me. This was where Kai met her and the story behind this river. He said Mayuko told him and that was why he got a house for them with a lake. I suppose those efforts were in vain. He cheated, lied, and did everything to keep Mayuko to himself. It was my turn to do something, even if it didn't work. At least I tried.
I heard footsteps behind me and I knew it had to be Kai. Opening my eyes, I prevented any tears to spill so far and I turned around slowly, with my pale blue dress and long ponytail flipping softly in the wind. He stood there sympathizing me and he kept walking till he was in front of me, looking down at me.
