Chapter13: Hurt

I woke up next to Keaton. Again. My grandma is probably so worried. She most

likely thinks I'm out clubbing. That used to happen a lot when things were still

really bad. Keaton doesn't know anything of my past. He doesn't know why the

wall is torn down or why I'm so secretive about my life. I want to tell him, but

I can't. He'll break up with me for sure.

I got up and started to gather my things when Keaton woke up. "Hi babe," he said

groggily. Ugh everything about his morning self was pure sex. Wait what. Why am

I talking like this. Keaton wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. "Good

morning Keater Pan." Keaton pulled back. "How do you know about that?" Keaton

asked. "Wesley," I laughed. "What?" Keaton asked again. "I needed someone to

talk to while you were still sleeping," Keaton glared at me as I laughed. "That

name is  forever forbidden," Keaton warned. I tried to hold back a laugh, but

Keaton didn't think it was good enough because he threw me on the bed and began

tickling me. God I hate when people tickle me. I'm the most tickelish person.

Ever. I was practically screaming with laughter when there was a knock on the

door. Keaton instantly covered my mouth as I tried to suppress the last giggles.

Keaton opened the door as I instinctively hid in the bathroom. You heard Wesley

and knew it was safe to come out. I joined Keaton at the door. "Geez what were

you guys doing in there? I could hear you from my room." "I'm very tickleish

ok." Wesley laughed. Before I could even control myself I howled with laughter

as Keaton poked my most tickleish spot: my side. Keaton pulled me into him

while Wesley stood at the door laughing his head off. "Alright little bro, I'll

leave you two alone." I hugged Wesley goodbye. "Keaton," Wesley said with a wink

and a nod. You blushed. Keaton looked at the floor.

"Do you really have to go," Keaton groaned. "Yeah, my grandmas probably freaking

out." "Ali?" "Yeah?" "Why does your grandma worry so much?" I hesitated and

remained turned away from him. This was my chance to tell him everything. "You

know how grandmas are." I couldn't do it. Instead I played it off like it was

nothing, lied, and faked that same smile while holding back the same damn tears.

"Ok," Keaton sighed. He wrapped his hands around my waist. "Your coming tonight

right?" Keaton whispered in my hair. "Mhm," I closed my eyes and leaned into

him. All this teasing wasn't going to be enough.I left through the back and

walked home. I loved Keaton so much. How can we even be together? I come from a

broken family, a hidden past, and invisible tears. Keaton has been like a happy

little puppy his whole life. Anyone could fall in love with him. Even someone

like me."Ali!" was all I heard as I entered the house. I tensed up and lingered

at the door debating if I should run again. I knew how this was going to go. The

same old threats with the same old comebacks.  "Ali! Answer me!" "What," I

answered with the same threatening tone. "Where have you been for the last week?

I've had no word from you, havent seen you. I thought you were done with all

this clubbing and-" I couldn't take this. "Enough! I wasn't clubbing for your

information and as a matter of fact I haven't been gone for a week. I came home

two days ago." "Ali, where were you?" I could tell my grandma was trying her

best not to lose it, but it just wasn't enough.  She didn't trust me anymore. "I

was with a boy."

"Oh for God's sake here we go again with the damn boys. Ali when are you going

to learn they're not all princes like in the storybooks. Your going to end up

getting hurt. Again." My eyes filled with tears. "He's different Grandma!" I

screamed. My voice cracked. "He's different," I practically whispered. I ran to

my room and slammed the door. I screamed into my pillow as the tears poured out.

I threw everything in your room. Finally, I calmed down. The door opened and I

took in another breath ready to scream. "I want to meet him," my grandma quietly

but sternely said. I smiled into my pillow as the door shut. I knew she would

love him.
