Chapter 72

Hurt

Wesley's Perspective

I flew down the stairs, grabbing the keys, and jumped into the car. I put the

keys in the ignition before realizing what I was doing. Was I really driving

down the police station to bail my 16 year old brother out of jail? Was I

rescuing him from what he just said to his girlfriend? Telling him I would get

him out even though he beat up somebody and got a DUI and for running from the

cops? No. I wasn't doing it. I picked up my phone and called the station telling

them Keaton would have to wait. I had to play Superman once again, trying to

save Alli from something Keaton, the supposed good guy, did.

Alli's Perspective

"Your back already?" I asked. Wesley was supposed to be picking up Keaton but he

was back within five minutes. Without Keaton. Wesley took my hand and brought me

onto the front porch, leading me into his lap. I leaned my head against his

chest, listening to his heartbeat. "I don't want him to come back," I whispered.

"I'm scared." Wesley pulled me closer before kissing me. "Im here. It's okay.

I'll always protect you." He always has been too, I thought. He was here when

Keaton wasn't. He picked up the pieces and never made me cry. Was I actually

beginning to develop feelings for him? Wesley rubbed my back and kissed me.

"Wesley," I started. "Why are you here to pick up the pieces every time? Don't

you get tired of all the drama?" I felt Wesley tense up but soon enough he

relaxed and continued. "I - I love you." He stuttered out. I have never seen

Wesley act like this. "I love you Alli," he finished. "I love you too," I

mumbled burying my head into his chest.
