Chapter 38

Expressing love

Alli's Perspective

I tried to pull away but not before our heads touched. I could hear Wesley's 

heavy breathing. This was getting harder and harder. "Wesley, I'm dating 

Keaton." I saw Wesley tense up and his face turn from softness "Okay so what  do 

you want to do now?" he asked. "I don't know." I really didn't know. I saw him 

sigh ."How bout I take you home?" he asked. "Okay." We walked in silence for 

awhile. "Alli I really do love you and I think your amazing and beautiful and 

perfect. I could take care of you better than anyone, especially Keaton. You 

need man and Keaton clearly isn't judging from the way he blew up at you. I know 

you like me too. We flirt all the time. You mean so much to me Alli. I just want 

you." I didn't know what to say. I did have to admit, I loved Wesley as a 

brother and nothing more. "I love you too Wes but nothing more than a brothers 

and I'm really happy with Keaton." I trailed off. "I know," he sighed. "One day 

Alli I'm gonna make you mine." I laughed and Wesley smiled. "You don't know how 

bad I want to kiss you right now." "Wesley!" I exclaimed. "I know I know," he 

said. "But you just wait." I laughed again because I couldn't think of anything 

else to say. "Come on," I led him back to the house.

Once we got back to the house Keaton was was nowhere to be found. "Hey 

Drew,where's Keaton?" I asked feeling emotionally drained. But no matter how I 

felt,I needed to tell Keaton everything. "Upstairs,nobody's seen him since this 

morning" he sighed looking at Wesley. I turned around and made my way up the 

stairs into our room where Keaton was sitting on the balcony looking out into 

the ocean. I walked out and sat next to him,grabbing his hand and intertwining 

my fingers with his. We both didn't say anything until I decided that it was 

time for me to just tell him everything. Starting with my parents. "When I 

turned 13 my parents had some friends that weren't very good per say. They would 

always get high,and drunk and when they got home they would take all of their 

anger out on me. Expecially my father" I took a breath and continued trying not 

to cry. "One night,when I was 14 my parents came home completely wasted,I 

thought that it would be like any other night. They would come upstairs beat me 

then leave. But it was different." 

I paused when I felt a tear slip out of my eye remembering everything that 

happened that night. "They beat me until my ribs were shattered,and my leg was 

broken. I was in the hospital for three months after that night. They went to 

jail and I moved in with my grandmother. After everything that had happened I 

began to drink...Alot. It made the pain go away." I sighed taking deep breaths 

and continuing. "I would get into so much trouble,I would cut,drink,do whatever 

I had to do to make the pain go away. Until I met you." His head turned to look 

at me. He opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off before he could 

speak. "As soon as I met you,it all stopped. Everything stopped,the trouble,the 

cutting,the drinking,everything. But when my grandmother died..I just didn't 

know what to do so I started cutting again. And when you had me meet Cece she 

found out and I just didn't want to hurt you Keaton." I choaked out looking at 

the ocean waves. "Alli-" I cut him off. "And this morning,I completely 

understand why you we're completely pissed,it's because I failed to be faithful 

to you. I didn't tell you a whole part of me that you should have known about. 

And I'm so sorry for that." However long I had been talking I still wasn't done. 

"I promise to tell you everything,no secrets between us because I don't think I 

can risk losing you. And right now,I'm going to be completely honest with you. 

After I stormed out Wesley found me in an ally way and tried to kiss me. I 

pulled away,and told him I didn't like him anymore than a brother and that I was 

completely happy with you. But of corse he had to be all big headed and tell me 

he had to win me over because you weren't good for me and that I would be better 

off with him. And you know what I realized? I realized that your'e more than 

perfect for me,your more than I could ever want and I honestly couldn't imagine 

being without you because I literally love you with all of my heart Keaton" I 

confessed finally everything off of my chest. I turned my head to face Keaton's 

teary eyes. "Do you know why I gave you that promise ring?" he asked looking me 

in the eyes. The promise ring. The ring that I haven't taken off since he gave 

it to me,the ring that meant everything to us. "It's because I wasn't sure what 

would happen if I we're to lose you,so I just wanted a commitment. But right now 

I can honestly say we're both committed to each other. And I love you so much 

Alli,so so much" He said kissing me softly. "I love you too Keaton,so much" I 

replied moving onto his lap as he wrapped his arms around my waist while the 

both of us watched the sun set and the waves roll in and out.
