Illeana was nervous.

Well, that was a slight understatement.

She had originally planned on gaslighting herself into believing that there weren't going to be a lot of people. Who cared about the World Cup anyway? And in this economy, pffftt.

That strategy quickly failed as the noise of the crowd outside was loud and clear, even in the prep room.

She was in her uniform, ready and booted up. All she wanted to do was get on that broom and fly into the air.

In the air, she would be safe, she would be secure, she would be a raven.

The only thing that would matter then is how many goals she could score.

All all the anxiety would cease.

All the ghosts would disappear.

It would just be her and the team.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the whistle of the referee as the team was beckoned to come out and wait outside. The game was about to start.

This was it.

If she played well enough today, if Ireland won the World Cup today, she would be guaranteed a seat at one of the top teams once she graduated.

She would fulfill her mother's dream.

As she started walking towards the entrance of the stadium, her eyes met another man's. She recognized him immediately.

Viktor Krum.

She found herself wondering whether he ever smiled. She wondered if he had ever watched Monty Python. One would surely laugh then. She didn't think of a person who wouldn't be tickled by the Pythons.

She giggled as she thought of Michael Palin yelling SPANISH INQUISITION.

She went back to her serious face as she noticed Moran looking at her with a questioning look.

In the back of her mind, she made a mental note to ask Krum why he was always scowling.

She was quickly distracted by Ludo Bagman and his booming voice which filled the entire stadium.

"Ladies and gentlemen...Welcome!
Welcome to the final of the four hundred and twenty-second Quidditch World Cup! Now without further ado, allow me to introduce the Bulgarian National Team Mascots!"
