Time flies and before June knows it a month has passed by. She and Matt talk on the phone a few times a day but now it's going to be a lot more complicated because Matt's about to leave for Europe. His next movie is being shot in Paris. The time difference is 9 hours which means that Matt's sleeping when June gets off work and when he gets off work she's working.
"I came up with a plan baby. It's s short timespan but it's better than nothing, right?"
Attached to Matt's text is photo of a timetable. Every morning between 7.00 AM and 7.30 AM it says "Call June <3".
"It is not a lot of time but it works for me. It means we get to talk to each other every day. Even if it's just for a little bit."
"You're the best, do you know that?" She says lovingly.
"No, you're the best baby." He replies with a soft chuckle.
"Please remind me again, when you're coming back home." She whispers into the phone.
"In 2 months, baby." He replies and quickly adds "59 days to be more precise."
"I'm already counting down the days." She mutters sadly and he says "Me too baby. I miss you. I can't wait to see you again."
Then they talk for a bit about all the sights Paris has to offer and June sighs longingly. She's always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower and Louvre. Matt promises he'll take her there one day.
"I need your help." June says to July over lunch a week after her conversation with Matt.
"What's up babe?" July asks curiously.
"I need you to help me plan a surprise. I have so much overtime saved up by now that I've decided I'm gonna use it to fly to Paris to surprise Matt."
July squeals and almost jumps up and down in her seat from pure happiness. "That's so romantic, babe. When are you leaving?"
June laughs softly. "I leave in two weeks if I can get my time off approved. And since you've been to Paris, I really, really need your help to plan a romantic picnic or something else that we can do together while I'm there. He has like one day off and that's the day after I get there if everything goes according to the plan. I've asked his parents to make sure he doesn't get any wild ideas like coming to see me for very short while and then fly back."
"That's the best idea I've ever heard. I know just the right places for you two to visit together."
Time flies while June plans her trip to surprise Matt. July has a ton of ideas for June to go through and pick from. It's almost too overwhelming and June considers playing spin the bottle with papers with the ideas written on just to pick a few of them.
June groans loudly and texts July "You have too many great ideas. I still haven't figured out which ones to choose on Matt's one day off."
"I'm betting you a hundred bucks that the two of you are gonna spend his entire day off in his bed with absolutely no clothes on."
"Ha ha. We are so not so I'll take that bet."
June bends over in a laughing fit when she reads June's reply. "Okay okay, maybe I don't want to bet on it with you since you actually have influence on the situation and maybe you're really desperate to make 100 easy bucks."
After taking a few deep breaths June replies "EASY?! Omg babe. Seriously? NOT being naked with my boyfriend for an entire day is definitely NOT easy."
"I'm betting with April about you two instead."
June laughs "Fair enough but how do I pick what to do on his day off?"
July's reply is quick. "Easy. Ask Matt to pick a number and do that one."
Quickly after another text follows. "Oh, and of course we both now he's gonna pick 69."
June has tears rolling down her cheeks from laughing so hard, when she types "Stoooop yourself! This is too much fun to handle!"
June then decides to use July's suggestion.
Later that night June texts July again. "You were wrong. He picked 17."
July's response is instant. "It's too damn cheesy that he picked your birthday! What did you tell him he had to pick a number for? What Kama Sutra position he misses the most?"
June rolls her eyes at her phone before she replies "Ha ha ha! I told him I had to pick something to eat."
She can hear the laughter in July's response. "That's not very easy to believe. You ALWAYS cook for yourself when you're alone."
June rolls her eyes. Why is she always so predictable? "I told him that you and Ben was coming over."
"Now it makes sense. And don't scold yourself for being predictable – I can feel you doing it through the Phoenix air – you're the best at cooking and I admire you so much for it. You know how often I eat takeaway."
June laughs again. "You're the best. You can come over for dinner this Friday. You and Ben, I mean."
"See you Friday babe."
June puts her phone down on her kitchen table and goes back to planning her trip to Paris. They are so many places she wants to visit and in order for her to visit them all she has to keep a tight schedule which isn't all the combinable with being in Paris. Why go there if she has to rush around all the time and have no time to really enjoy it? She decides to pick 5 places that she can't go home without having visited and decides that she'll have to visit Paris again some other time.
After having decided that the 5 places are The Louvre, Champs Elysée, The Eiffel Tower, Jardin du Luxembourg and Notre Dame she puts in the request for some time off and when she leaves work the next day, her request has been granted.
